Here's the Complete W/L Records & History of Clash At The Castle. Here are my Clash At The Castle Thoughts:
Ah Crap, after not having a Kickoff Match for 6 Months, we're getting one today. Damn it. Now, I have to get Facts done. I just wanted to relax & enjoy the show.
For the record, Wade Barrett & Sheamus wrestled each other 52 times in 1-on-1 Singles Matches in their WWE Career. Barrett was nice enough to correct me on Twitter by saying they had hundreds more throughout the UK pre-WWE.
They are right, GUNTHER has no losses on the main roster & only 2 in 2022 (he & Imperium lost MSK & Riddle on 1/4 & he lost to Bron Breakker on 4/5), both in NXT.
I like that they brought a spotlight to tomorrow's Worlds Collide with the video on Tyler Bate VS Bron Breakker.
More WWE BS. This won't be the 1st time in 20 years that Edge & Rey Mysterio are teaming up. They teamed up last year on Smackdown with Dominik against The Bloodline and their last 2-on-2 was on the Final Smackdown of 2010 against Del Rio & Kane.
Love the Set with the long ramp. And damn, no Pat McAfee tonight. I guess he's stuck in the States doing NFL things.
I hope Theory doesn't Cash-in because I forgot to do my Facts & Stats for MITB. I think he's going to lose it to Johnny Gargano soon.
Wow. What a fun 6-Man Tag to kickoff Clash At The Castle. Madcap Moss & The Street Profits VS The Alpha Academy & Austin Theory was great, especially that Blockbuster. But Michael Cole's mic needs to be fixed.
Fun opening video.
It's going to be a long day with these Chants from the British Crowd. I hate them. They are annoying & is distracting.
I like the fact that Michael Cole mentioned IYO SKY & Asuka's History in Japan, but he gets WWE History wrong. Becky Lynch was the 1st Smackdown Women's Champion, Alexa Bliss was the 2nd.
Oops, we heard Bayley telling Dakota Kai the next spot.
Asuka, Bianca Belair, & Alexa Bliss VS Bayley, Dakota Kai, & IYO SKY was a great match & I figured that the result would be like that to set-up Belair VS Bayley.
Cool video on Cody Rhodes. Nice recap of SummerSlam 1992. Cool for them to bring in Georgia Smith & Bret Hart.
Awesome, Imperium is back together. Giovanni Vinci is on the main roster. There goes his gimmick in NXT.
I don't care who was supposed to be the face & who was supposed to be the heel in the match, but Sheamus VS GUNTHER was awesome. It was 2 guys beating the hell out of each other for fun.
Wow, a standing ovation for Sheamus. I wonder if he's going to be retiring soon. It seemed like that type of reaction.
Cool video on The Usos.
For once, WWE is telling the truth about history. Liv Morgan & Shayna Baszler never wrestled each other in a 1-on-1 Match.
Last night during Smackdown, I said that Liv Morgan VS Shayna Baszler was the only match that I wasn't looking forward to. But I have to give credit where it's due. It was a good match. Both women worked hard. Liv is a good seller & is improving a lot.
Awesome Paul Heyman doing the voiceover for the Extreme Rules video.
Nice for WWE to recognize Adrian Street & Miss Linda, though I have no idea who they are.
Awesome, Edge is wearing a mask. Yes, Michael Cole was close and said over 10 years and not 20 years like the WWE BS they have been saying all week. It's 12, so Cole should have been more specific.
Edge & Rey Mysterio VS The Judgment Day was a great match. It's the first match that I got wrong. I thought The Judgment Day would win when Dominik turned, but they waited for after the match. Interesting. I don't know if Dominik can play a heel. He doesn't have that good of a personality.
Good video on Drew McIntyre.
This is what I was afraid of on Monday. Riddle is back being his goofy self with his entrance, instead of being pissed off and wanting to kick Seth Rollins' ass since it was personal.
Seth Rollins looked like Elton John in his outfit.
I love that the commentators are actually mentioning the Referees' names. It makes them important & not just someone in the background.
Hello, remember your stipulations: Riddle lost to Roman Reigns and can't challenge for the Undisputed Title as long as Reigns is still Champion.
Matt Riddle VS Seth Rollins was incredible. It was more of a wrestling match than a brawl between 2 guys that hate each other. It was the 2nd match that I got wrong. I won't mind them continuing the feud to do a Stipulation Match next month at Extreme Rules.
Good video on Becky Lynch. LOL. They mention Becky being the 1st Smackdown Women's Champion, after Michael Cole goofed earlier.
Cool, I just realized that Extreme Rules will be on a Saturday. I love Saturday PPVs.
Interesting that Karrion Kross & Scarlett are in the audience.
Yes, Broken Dreams is back for Drew McIntyre's Entrance, one of my favorite themes of All-Time. They went back to his current theme afterwards, but it was better than nothing.
All of those Stats that Michael Cole said was correct. No BS this time.
I just realized that there's no LED Barricades tonight or anywhere else around the ring. I guess they didn't want to bring them overseas.
LOL Roman Reigns dropped an F-Bomb.
I cringe every time Drew McIntyre does the Glasgow Kiss. No one should do headbutts anymore in wrestling given CTEs especially to a Samoan. Even it's protected with the hand, it can still rattle someone's brain.
No, don't do a Cash-In. I don't have my Facts for it. Yes, thank you Tyson Fury.
Awesome, Solo Sikoa is on the main roster & part of The Bloodline.
Drew McIntyre VS Roman Reigns started off boring & slow, but then as it went on, it got better & better and told an amazing story. Thank God they didn't do Reigns VS Fury, but what's the point of the crap with Fury singing. What a crappy to end the show.
Ends an unbelievable Clash At The Castle. I can't say what my favorite match was since they were all tremendous except for Morgan VS Baszler, which was good in its own right. As much as the crowd was annoying, I want this to be an annual show.
And a quick programming note: Due to it airing at 4:00 PM, I will not be available for NXT Worlds Collide. I will watch later on around 7:30/8:00 on Demand. I will do my live thoughts then.
