He likely signed a deal with limited dates so he didn’t have to. Giving him the belt when he had a contract like that is all Vince. Vince could probably con a lot of talent to work more dates even in that scenario but Brock is too smart for that. And it was too much to ask him to wrestle at only 2 or 3 Raw during his interminable reigns? He makes somewhere in the neighborhood of 850k-1mil per match, why the hell would they put that on free TV

It makes me sad that we didn't get introduced to Cowboy Brock 5 years ago

I just can't believe the dude's been back for 10 years. I figured when he made his return back in 2012 he'd be around 2 years at the most. Get a couple Wrestlemania matches under his belt. But a decade? And due to his work schedule, his body has likely got at least another 5 years left before he needs to reduce his schedule down, similar to Undertaker's Wrestlemania tour.

Those numbers aren't really worth comparing because inflation and how much the media landscape has changed. Also, because WCW was owned by the network they had a lot more incentive to have him more active on TV, while the WWE isn't nearly as much out of popping an occasional high rating compared to the increase in buys/subscriptions when Lesnar is wrestling In a discussion on how much someone is paid to wrestle a set number of dates per year, the numbers are the only thing worth comparing. $4 million in 1999 is worth $7.1 million in 2022, so inflation hasn't increased so much to the point where Lesnar's base pay, if accurate, doesn't dwarf Hogan's entire earnings, PPV and merch bonuses included. The landscape might be different, but Lesnar is still being paid significantly more than Hogan ever was for less than half the work. Regardless of circumstances, nobody's had a contract that cushy.

Yeah, like Hogan deserves the credit so to say (and Hall/Nash to an extent) for setting up that contract structure but Brock has blown it away and taken full advantage of it Lesnar was basically able to take the Hogan pay structure and Undertaker schedule and morph it into something that works for him. Not too many people can get away with such limited dates but massive pay. I think Goldberg is only other one that could come close

In that time he's earned roughly $30 million in base salary, and who knows how much more in merchandise revenue. Adjusted for inflation and including PPV bonuses and merch revenue, Hogan's entire WCW run earned him $30 million. Never mind on a different level, Lesnar's on a different planet earning-wise. I do believe Goldberg is earning more per match, but obviously the proviso there is he's not drawing a regular salary and is only making a couple of appearances per year or less.

Brock bending Vince over and treating him like his personal ATM will still be my favorite Brock moment, because f*** Vince, that's why.
