And not because it’s too graphic or whatever, because it feels played out at this point. Blood should MEAN something and it means nothing in AEW.
When WWE guys are poking fun on Twitter at AEW wrestlers for blading “every week”, when there’s memes all over the internet about a crimson soaked Mox “after taking a backdrop”, when there’s blood on almost every show..it just becomes meaningless.
Less is more.

I agree. I'm not disgusted by it. It's more I feel they're leaving money on the table by overdoing it. Having the rare bloodbath is better in my opinion.
For example say we don't get it that often and you have a hot feud with a big match coming on ppv and one of the competitors says I'm gonna make you bleed. If you don't have blood that often then you could get a few extra buys to see something that doesn't happen that often.

I will say it puts my wife off of watching at all and makes me more likely to delay sharing it with my kid

I'm not a big fan of overdoing it, but I also don't want to walk into people's "The only people who don't like this are..." tripwires.

I think it's been overused as well.
As a rule I'd say pro wrestling matches should generally only involve color if it's some sort of no DQ stipulation, or maybe, rarely for some big, epic struggle that ends a feud.

I do think there's a bit too much of it. It doesn't have the same impact when you have multiple matches with blood on the same show. Blood can help to tell a great story but like any story beat, it can be overused.
Mox is almost at Ric Flair levels of bleeding at anything (which is a shame, because the earring spot with Jericho and the bloody ear told a good story)

They really over do it. It's become a running joke at work. Just ready for Mox to start bleeding during his entrance. Lol

Yup, they break it out too often. Should be once every few months type of thing, not every other week.

In some cases it has been hardway I am pretty sure
Mox matches probably planned every time, but I will say when it came to Mox vs Lionheart Jericho? The blood was an amazing visual.

Yeah, this would probably be up there on my list of complaints (there aren't a whole lot) about AEW

I think the impact of the blood during the Mox vs. Jericho match wasn't as meaningful as it could've been because Mox is almost Flair in how often he blades. Dude needs to chill with that.

I get it to an extent and agree but not going to lie, I normally think it looks cool as hell and don’t mind it myself
Like the two cases this week on dynamite I was surprised we got blood like 1 minute into the action but as same time it’s a coffin match and then you have the big dramatic title match in the Main Event and especially after the earring spot
So yeah I can understand those who think it is too much but as I’ve said, I don’t mind it myself

I do think that, at times, AEW has leaned a little heavily on “hardcore” tropes (in particular, I think thumbtacks have been overused), but I, overall, don’t mind a little blood in my wrestling. AEW is definitely the more “adult” product, and I think the color is something that differentiates it from WWE. Sure, that may place a ceiling on its mainstream appeal, but I’ve always felt like AEW will be most successful bringing lapsed NWA and Mid-South fans back into the fold. And blood is definitely a key component of that type of product.

Khan's an ECW mark and it shows, although I don't think even they were this bloody on a weekly basis.

I've said it before... I really never missed blood while it was banned in the WWE. ( I mean I did hate when they'd stop the f***ing match if someone got cut... but still)
with the amount of blood born illness out there it seems like an unnecessary risk especially since like the people are already hurting themselves for my amusement I don't need them to start slicing themselves on top of it.
Yeah, it can tell a story... but it can also easily get massively overused... and it almost always does.

When AEW first had blood (Dustin) I loved it because WWE were so anti it to the point of being annoying and so it was a cool point of difference and something new. But as with a lot of the things where they’ve tried to be different to WWE they’ve gone completely the other way to the point of also being annoying (refusing to EVER do a DQ finish being another example). Occasional blood in a big match, cool. Blood in every other dynamite, tiresome.
