Agree completely. The main people I watch wrestling with won't watch matches with blood in so it pisses me off, but also it just is way less interesting when it happens every week.
The f*** is Mox bleeding in a random no build show opener against Rush?

Sometimes there can still be some novelty in it, like Brody bleeding less than a minute into the Darby match or Mox / Yuta, but for the most part in AEW it does just kind of feel like, "Yeah, guess it's that part of the show." Kind of part of a broader problem that I feel like they overdo crazy hardcore gimmick matches.

My thoughts too, I've said it before but now when I hear there's a deathmatch of some description scheduled for Dynamite it gets no more than a shrug of the shoulders.

90 % of those matches have Mox in it... and you cant tell him what to do. There was less blood when he was out last year

This thread reminds me of the story from Foley’s book where he was working some Indy and he didn’t want anyone else to bleed so when he did it would get a bigger reaction and the promoter assured him that no one else would be bleeding…..and then opened the show with a Last Blood Battle Royal where the last person that doesn’t bleed wins. lol

I agree too, I'm a huge deathmatch guy, but there seems to be a thing where Mox blades for the sake of blading which sometimes looks dumb. Especially during the Tanahashi match when he bladed, a lot of folks watching with me were wondering when or what move would cause that.

Bleeding on TV should be a rarity (every cage match doesn't need blood.... Blood and Guts not withstanding). On PPV, I would expect to see it more.

100% agree. Not against the use of blood where warranted but it shouldn't be happening every week and certainly not multiple times a night. Keep it for really violent matches and it will retain its shock factor.

Man I remember one of the first AEW post show pressers and somebody asked “Hey there was a lot of bleeding and chair shots to the head and weapons on the show. Is this what we can expect week to week on TNT”
And Tony was like “Noooo of course not! We’d never go that far on a weekly show!”

At least it's generally cool when they do it. NXT has had JD McDonagh "bleed" from the mouth a few times and it always looks lame.

I do find the bleeding boring, especially since every Tom, Dick, and Harry bleeds now and it occurs more than once in a show.
That being said, I am only worried whether the excessive color is going to affect them getting sponsors.

Khan's an ECW mark and it shows, although I don't think even they were this bloody on a weekly basis. That’s good in terms of copying ECW’s variety. Not so much in terms of copying it’s excesses.
