Yeah, I went to the Town Center for the first time since COVID a few months ago and it was a ghost town. Like the only places I'd ever used to go to that are still there are Hot Topic and Gamestop and hardly need the mall for the latter.

Malls on life support are pretty depressing. There's one near here where like half the stores are closed outside of the food court and a Barnes and Noble.
They're trying to revitalize it as one of those upscale outdoor malls, but it's meeting a lot of resistance from the town.

I had two malls here, one got torn down and a factory took its place, which pissed off a movie theater that like JUST renovated there less than a year ago and put a bar in and everything and they never found a new place to set up, and the more local one has been slowly eaten away as big stores move in and start building into sections of it. Kohl's, TJ Maxx, Dunhams Sports, Dollar Tree and Michaels have all taken parts of it

One of them is now rebranded as the "Kingston Collection", while the other is just Macys, Trader Joe's, Chipotle, Panera, Buffalo Wild Wings, Staples and Dick's Sporting Goods.

I live near Harrisburg and the oneall doing well here has the 2nd biggest Bass Pro shop in the country. The thing that hurts our malls are we are less than 2 hours from KOP in Philly, Towson down in Maryland, and even the Inner Harbor in Baltimore. You can just take half a day and go to some of the top malls in the country so why not?

Including the dead mall I just mentioned, there's like at least 5 malls within a half hour drive from me.

I just miss video stores. It sucked when certain SNES games I wanted to play as a kid were rented out, but I did find some lesser-known games that were sometimes good, and others that were bizarre trainwrecks (Shaq-Fu), so that was a fascinating experience.

For anyone saying Charleston's not a huge market, we got THREE representatives from FAN there tonight! Looking forward to this, mainly because my sister's working until 8:30, so I get the back room with the mounted TV for the first hour lol plus FAN might get a bit of her wisdom before she kicks me out hahaha Do you guys call it Chuckston? Met Danhausen…he actually remembered me from last December (“wait..two minutes to late night shirt” 😂) but this time it was all about making sure my son got to meet him. He did. He was so stoked.
Also once we got inside ran into Kip.
Pics of both (and more) whenever I’m home later

Yeah, the live merch selection has been something they could stand to improve pretty much every time I've been. It's like for the event-exclusive t-shirts, if you're not standing in line the instant the venue doors open and well into the start of the Dark tapings, tough shit.
You'd also think by now they'd be in the habit of bringing more stock with them week to week, since they tend to be ransacked by the time the actual TV broadcast starts.

Here in my city, the downtown mall is a huge bust; there are no anchors and most of the stores are vacating. Frankly, I think turning the buildings into apartments or leasing a Target would be extremely helpful in the area. At least one of the other malls is trying to escape "dead mall" status and is having major overhauls by undergoing extreme maintenance into a multipurpose venue.
