Welcome back Kenny. You really should not be back yet, you look like you're suffering, but props for that performance despite.

Pretty near 100 percent sure most all of that was Omega selling the story of coming back too soon or making people think he's back too soon.

I hope a lot of that is selling. I think a lot of it was story telling for sure. Let's be clear, dude's body was WRECKED. Like when you hear how much pain he was in and see how insane his matches were its like... how? So the story being him needing to work his way back up to being Kenny Omega makes sense. That being said.... his body was WRECKED so who knows where he's at percentage wise

I love the idea of Omega coming back and struggling through everything to make us think he’s back too soon or he doesn’t have it anymore.
He’s just had multiple major surgeries. He shouldn’t be “better than ever.”
I think that’s a really compelling story to tell.

I feel like purposely slowing down could end up causing more problems if he mistimed something.

Inside the ring the man is absolutely amazing but outside he is less entertaining to me on the mic or around it than Al Snow...It's such a weird mixture for me. He is so crisp with everything he does but his perceived charisma feels so forced and it drives me nuts. Cole on the other hand basically has that in spades but is treated like he is Omega in the ring which he isn't. Regardless Omega being back is definitely best for business.
I think Callis is good for Omega despite the overall reception here

I'm happy that he was promoted from Executive Vice President to Flexecutive Nice Fundament.

Kenny did a master class of acting like he's not there yet. Like, we've seen his matches during a period where he was falling completely the f*** apart. He hid his condition and agony to a degree that doesn't even seem real. For him to be visibly selling the fumble and the pain? Nah, that's all an act, and it was a great act. Kenny's the GOAT

It's a very very interesting story choice to have him come back clearly not at all up for this but I think it's the right one.

It’s very clearly an act. I enjoy it because it’s different though. It’ll make final boss kenny all the more stronger once we get to him

I will say. I believe it is a work if only because if Kenny really did come back still injured it would be a gross act of irresponsibility on both him, and AEW.
That said I have been wrong many times in the past.

I really hope all of these returns from injury popping up about as quick as injuries themselves did is either ridiculously lucky, or worrisome that they may be rushing some people back.

There were specific spots to highlight each of his rumoured surgeries in this match so he could make a point to sell them and play up the story that he's not quite there yet. Love it. It's a very common story in japanese wrestling with someone coming back from a long injury - to come back too early and have to work off the rust. I think its a smart and compelling story to tell, and one he'll do super well because hes Kenny Bi-God Omega.

Kenny's the GOAT I honestly think this was his best selling performance he’s ever had. He’s always been great at it but, this genuinely had me scared for him, at times.
