Was the compression shirt part of the sell? Pretty sure that and whatever was on his shoulder were for legit reasons, he just decided to work it into the story

So happy he’s back. Not sure what’s selling, what isn’t, but AEW feels whole w/ him around.

I hope a lot of that is selling. It absolutely was. As soon as he was cutting his off air promo he was moving around fluidly and not even breathing heavy. To quote my brother in law (who was with me and Mini-Asylumhausen tonight); “Kenny’s selling is damn ART”

It does feel WAY too soon to come back from all of the surgeries he's had to have.
If it is too soon that's unfortunate, as the storyline has been put on pause for so damn long it's stifled everyone involved. But it's certainly not worth coming back early for.
If he's in fact ready, then that was an amazing sell job, b/c I was genuinely uncomfortable watching him.

Unable to do the You Can't Escape, selling the knee hard unable to senton, almost slumping into the One Winged Angel It feels like this is a story of Kenny being carried by The Bucks, and for one of the first times, someone isn't back from a major injury and instantly killing it, but in kayfabe, Omega is the GOAT, he has to perform like the GOAT, and in the Trios he's clearly trying to mask the fact he's got a bunch of targets and hasn't wrestled in 277 days Wouldn't be the first time we've seen major sell jobs in matches, Bryan did it a few weeks ago, hell Punk was reportedly hard limping at cons recently and now look at him... Omega's a master storyteller, him telling the story of a guy who is clearly still working back and showing doubts about it, might be the exact way to connect him to Hangman in a later arc, because this is the first time since the very beginning of the company that Omega's showed major struggle.

I was worried about Kenny during the match, but I was almost more worried for Andrade, looks like he may have messed up his arm during the match. He was wincing and trying to muscle through holding the ropes open for Dragon Lee during his dive spot.

Omega's selling is a massively underrated part of his performance. Dudes a storyteller in the ring.

I, like everyone else, was worried watching him. He just didn't seem right. Never occurred to me that this might be part of the story but hopefully it is and he's ok.

The guy is just so weird. He cut a promo following the show likening the crowd to tiny kitty cats that pee and poop all over the house. Just what?

Comparing to another GOAT,reminds me a lot of Daniel Bryan selling everything once he "hits" his head. At very least being part of trios match will allow him to take it easy( I say this as he is probably planning something insane)

I think there was a lot of selling there. A lot of what he did in the ring had a definite spring and energy to it that didn't really fit with how much he was selling at other times. He might not be completely 100% yet (if he ever could be again) but then again, did anyone realize exactly how wrecked he was when he was having that 30-minute time limit banger with Bryan Danielson?

Guys like Danielson and Omega take their craft very seriously, even if I don't think they take themselves as people seriously at all.
That means that they will absolutely use their real life injuries and milk them in the ring if it will get you, the viewer, that much more emotionally invested in the match.
I'm not sure I 100% agree with that, but I'm not sure I disagree with it, either. There's a fine line between "Worrying about what their obsession with their craft is doing to their bodies to the point that you think maybe they should hang it up or at least slow down" and "They're grown-ass adults who can make their own decisions", and Danielson and Omega both walk that line like a tightrope

Question for anyone who’s watched the off air video this morning….
In the moment last night I felt there was some subtle subtext underneath some of what Kenny was saying…perhaps directed towards a missing member of The Elite.
Probably not the case of course, but that was where my brain went in the moment.

When Cody left Kenny did an interview with Meltzer and he didn't exactly hide that he felt Cody was more in it for himself than what the group wanted AEW to be

That's exactly the part of that promo that got me thinking it was a subtle moment of "WE had THIS vision. OTHERS didn't. WE'RE still here" I mean, it wasn't shit talk...it wasn't shootin...and I think Kenny made valid points. I'll be curious how the rest of the internet runs with that as the video gets more and more eyeballs. I'm sure it'll be a measured and low key conversation about shifting priorities and such. (/s)

Meltzer on WOR said Omega is 100% doing the ring rust angle and the plan is we’re gonna watch him slowly get back to “Best Bout Machine” Kenny over time.
