I adore the guy. The only reason I latched onto BTE/The Bucks was because of Kenny Vs Okada & all the buzz it gathered. The Bucks always felt like the “accessible” component of the movement. Hangman the potential and future. Cody, the face. I don’t know what that makes Kenny. The catalyst perhaps? But he is AEW. See it's weird for me because Kenny clicked for me before the Bucks did - even after being wowed by the Kenny/Okada series, I dismissed the Bucks as spot-monkeys. Then I saw them live at an ROH show and it was like "oh...okay, yeah I get it now." But yeah, Kenny absolutely is the catalyst, with all apologies to Jay White.

I hope they intend to acknowledge the fact Kenny was a giant dickweed when he left.

I hope they intend to acknowledge the fact Kenny was a giant dickweed when he left. He did that kind of subtly before he left, congratulating Page for beating him and announcing he was going to take some time off. Plus The Bucks tried to make amends recently. The only trace of heel Omega left is Don Callis, and my guess is he either drops him or Callis turns against them and aligns with The UE.

He added a lot to Kenny's heel run but you can't fully commit to being a face when Don Callis is in your corner. Callis is excellent when he does his guest commentary spots though - pitches it perfectly between being a shill for his guy but still putting the other guys over. Plus, there's the whole deal with what (allegedly) went down with Callis when he was in Impact. I'd rather not have him around for that reason alone.

Kenny was so good at making me thinking he was nowhere neat 100%
Everything being a step off, including the OWA made me go “Man maybe he really has came back too soon”
Considering he had vertigo amongst other things and wrestled amazing matches, ain’t no way in the cold light of day I’m buying it wasn’t on purpose his performance last night but man I was believing during the match

In a strange way it's been too easy to take Omega for granted; you need him to be away or need to really sit down and think for a minute to realize that "holy shit, nobody else can do what this guy can do."
I'll always go back to this: during G1 Climax 26, Kenny Omega was a guy who was getting pushed towards the top quicker than NJPW had intended. He was brought into Bullet Club as The Cleaner to be their junior division ace, and he held the IWGP Junior Heavyweight title for a couple solid reigns, but at the start of 2016 NJPW lost both AJ Styles and Shinsuke Nakamura, half of their main event Mount Rushmore along with Tanahashi and Okada, and as part of the plan to replace them they got to work fully committing to Tetsuya Naito's at the time new Tranquilo heel persona, leading to him forming LIJ and winning the New Japan Cup that year, and also had Kenny be the one to throw AJ out of Bullet Club and take over as its nominal leader and ace in the heavyweight division, even having him go over Tanahashi for the IC title soon after Wrestle Kingdom 10, albeit with interference from the Bucks.
But again, here comes the G1. Kenny finally qualifies for the heavyweight tournament, and as the new face of Bullet Club people figured he'd get a great showcase but likely fall short, given that he was booked to face Naito on the last night of action for the B Block, with most people likely figuring Naito would come out on top as the guy clearly on the rise to the main event.
Instead, Kenny and Naito go on to have an absolute epic of a match that sees the two tear Sumo Hall apart, leaving the crowd surprised when Omega came out on top. He goes on the very next night to have a finals match against similarly surprising finalist Hirooki Goto, and the two manage to arguably top the match from the night before, giving Omega what might well be the greatest two night performance of any wrestler on a stage that large in history...and Kenny wins. For the first time in NJPW history, a gaijin wins the G1.
You'd think that would solidify him, but instead the guy shows up January 4 at Wrestle Kingdom 11 and seemingly decides "No, lots more work to be done", and proceeds to change the course of modern wrestling with the first match against Okada.
The guys he faced in each of those big matches are all great; in the cases of Tanahashi and Okada you can make cases for them being the best in the world during their primes. But the common denominator in all of those matches, in the larger angles that took what could've been a desperate situation with NJPW losing a lot of its main event scene, what could've led to a slowdown in the promotion's growth given what Styles had meant for its westward expansion, it was Kenny Omega who not only helped stave the worst off, he actually made it grow even bigger.
I mean, consider this: during his Belt Collector run last year Kenny faced Rich Swann for the Impact World Title on PPV. Rich Swann is good; he's really good! Works smooth, athletic as hell, the guy brings tons to the table. But in that match? He got gassed trying to keep up with Omega, which is not a sight people are accustomed to seeing, and this is while Kenny's body was in the midst of falling apart on him.
Plain and simple, Omega is an absolute physical freak who probably could've played at top levels in almost any sport, and he just so happens to have a brilliant mind for basically every aspect of pro wrestling, and then for funsies he'll go and compete in professional fighting video game tournaments. There are very, very few who've ever approached this guy's all-around game.

The back half of Swann vs. Omega was the closest we've seen in western wrestling to someone making good on "I could get a five star match out of a broom". No disrespect to Swann, but he was practically getting Weekend at Bernie's-ed through a lot of that match and Kenny didn't so much wrestle against him as wrestle at him. It didn't matter. Kenny is just that good.

In the ring I feel like Kenny is untouchable. Kenny is a once in a lifetime worker that can exude that "it" factor and backing it up in the ring. On promos he can be hit or miss but he's way better than he was before and he's hit way more than missed. Kenny with his body held by ductape was still better than almost all wrestler, period. Its crazy. Look there is probably only one person that could ever wrestle having vertigo, and that is Omega.

The dude is everything you can want in a pro wrestler. I've never understood the "he can't talk" thing. His promos are fine, usually more than fine. He doesn't sound rehearsed like Dwayne, or phony like Cena, or edgelord like Punk. It's what I like about both him, and Hangman, both guys sound genuine on the mic. To be honest, I think you need to lower the tint of rose in your glasses. He can't touch Rock, Cena or even Punk on the mic. With practice and reps I am sure he can get close but he's pretty far off their pace.

I mean talk of how he was missed it didn't help that what felt like their major storyline was put completely on hold while he was out... >_>
But yeah, Dude's great.

Trust me, I've seen a LOT of that on here, have been vocal about it, and try to be as objective as possible. The dude isn't perfect by any means, I can see why people think he's corny or hammy on the mic, especially with delivery. To me delivery isn't everything. I'm more into believability. I would rather listen to any Eddie Kingston promo than all the promos from Cena, Dwayne, and Punk combined. They don't click with me for the reasons stated. It sounds rehearsed, insincere, or eye rollingly try hard. Which works for them and their promo style. And for a lot of people. It just doesn't work for me. For me it's less about tinting the glasses, and more about what I prefer in a promo. I'd rather someone stammer cutting a real heartfelt promo than a flawless fake sounding one with lame insults like "kung pow bitch" or "Y2Cheap". Like your sheets can be the smoothest satin in the world, but do they keep you warm, y'know?

People seem to say "he can't talk" because he's not as over the top as Rock and Hogan, but neither was the Undertaker. Taker was even less of a talker than Kenny. He concentrated more on how his promos worked with his overall character as a whole package. Same with Kenny. He says what serves his character, and doesn't need everything in his promo to be a catchphrase.

I haven't heard a whole lot of them, but I've never had an issue with Kenny's promos myself.

He's simply the best, just saw the comeback!
One of the few who gets me so excited about a wrestling match, that I have to watch every second of it in awe.

Speaking of Omega, where do you think this would rank on a list of his best matches?

His post-match promos in NJPW were always pretty good and there was an element of earnestness in them even when he was the heel. And that press conference where he's mocking the hell out of EVIL behind his back was hilarious.
