Inspired by finding out the second season of Super Pumped will be about the founding of Uber. This made me think it’s already been done with a popular movie even. The Social Network.

We are almost as far removed from the release of Raiders of the Lost Ark (41 years) as Raiders of the Lost Ark was from the beginning of World War II (42 years).

Arnold Schwarzenegger was 37 when The Terminator was released. The Terminator was released 38 years ago.

When the Simpsons started in 1989, I was 6. I’m now 39, the same age as Homer.

I always think of it starting in 1990 because that is when it first aired here in the UK, but you are correct

I mean, technically it started in 87, so even more time has passed.

As of right now, checking if someone is 21 or older is easy when looking at the DOB on and ID card or passport.

They just need to see the 19XX or 2000… and the month number if it’s 2001 birth

My sons and I were discussing the computer games I played when I was younger. Final Fantasy? My favorite was 2 on the NES. **shocked look**. I listed other games I played and they asked what version of Windows they ran off of. “They didn’t run off Windows. They ran off DOS.” **shocked look**

I thought their heads would explode when I described buying magazines and typing code directly into our computers in order to play simple games.

I am so freaking old.

When I was a kid, I thought of classic music as anything from the 60's and 70's and fossil music as anything from the 50's.

The 90's and 00's are as far removed from now as the year when I thought that about classic. And the 80's for fossil.

The 1982 slasher movie Girls Nite Out prominently features a radio station playing "golden oldies", referring to songs from the mid to late 60s.

A film set in the present day attempting to recreate this experience would be using songs from 2005-2009.
