I can see it being more due to not really being a member of the AEW roster officialy and just being an occasional stop. But she is very self-absorved to the attention she gets from the crowd less than wanting to entertain. Same way she sang as there was a brawl during her entrance,she just wants the attention and doesnt really care what people around are doing.

She was celebrating her victory to the beat of Emi Sakura's theme.(as it was a tag team match)

I just took it as Maki being glad she won and not giving a shit about Emi and Shida's problems, as they don't really concern her, personally.

Jokes aside this is an example of all the small storytelling and character playing missing with the main women of AEW, more this all around would be great

It helps Shida and Emi make me believe anything they do.

Helps the two obviously know one another well. Emi trained Shida and Riho, so it gets personal that much easier. Emi wants to be seen as more than just "the one who trained the champs" and as a contender in her own right, and Hikaru probably has her own beef about how Emi Sakura conducts herself, kayfabe-wise.

It's interesting to see the differenc, it's sensible, getting over is the first priority and the wrestling can come later. Could lead to a cool moment with somebody like Deeb underestimating her and then she busts out all the Boston crab variations etc.

Yuka is also nicer in aew, displaying none of her sociopathic tendancies.

Maki's schedule and a loaded week makes it understandable it's on a webshow but feels a bit backwards when it's more TV ready than the likes of trustbusters and Shafir that need more time to develop on the webshows.

It's not a surprise for anyone who knows Gatoh Move, but you give Emi someone to interact with, anyone at all, and you'll understand the nature of their relationship even if you don't know what they're saying to one another. Her own personal gimmick from my understanding went from, "Loves Queen, especially on the wake of Bohemian Rhapsody coming out" to "Literal Queen", doing stuff like miming drinking tea on her kneeling opponent to embarrass them, demonstrating she's full of veteran tricks to trip up gals who in many cases weren't even in school before she was already wrestling, or even born in many cases.
