I still say this is all super over-blown. people were just so happy to have an alternative to WWE that they freak out any time anything doesn't work out the way its supposed to and start acting like the sky is falling. IMO its kind of getting old. Agreed. I think there absolutely are issues that Khan needs to get worked out, but I have faith they'll be taken care of. I find the drama more funny than anything.Oh totally. And like I said earlier an absolute treasure trove of memes that will play long term. And somehow it indirectly birthed a “Wardlow taping his fists” meme for us here AND HE’S NOT EVEN INVOLVED in any of this (as far as we know 😂)

I think in part a lot of it is the honeymoon saga WWE is in right now. From everything that is being read most of the issues seem to have been or in the process of being resolved. I do think a lot of people also just want to dislike Tony... and I get it in some aspects

It’s a combination of WWE disposing of the guy that was the cause of 99% of the problems people have had with that company since… always (?) and finding themselves in a comfortable state of “new normal”, with fans just relieved at having edible food instead of shit sandwiches, and AEW having the same kinds of normal problems a wrestling company generally has, in contrast to the perception of some that it was going to be this near-utopia where there weren’t going to be any of these problems AT ALL because of it being entirely new blood learning the lessons of wresting history.

I like that, "Darby tried to murder-suicide Sting," isn't even like a top 5 oddity right now.

Like, every now and then you'd get the rumblings and the puffs of smoke (Swole, Janela, the Joshis' issues with adjusting and the company dropping the ball on assisting them), and then it all kind of came fast and furious starting with the MJF autograph signing no-show. Tony's making an attempt to get it back under control, we just have to wait and see what the expanded Talent Relations department does.

That whole MJF weirdness should have been a sign that everything was about to explode. All of this happening in such a short amount of time isn't because of something new, this is shit that's been simmering for awhile, but always able to be stopped before it got out of control. Before that the only things were the Codyverse and Sammy breaking up with his fiance, as the big drama. Don't know if it was something like guys like Cody, Kenny, Bucks, and Hangman being able to put out beefs before it got bad and having 2 of them gone allowed it all to flare up. But MJF's unhappiness was the first thing to pop off and began the chain reaction. Nah the big drama before this was TK calling Swole a dogshit wrestler which was DEFCON 1 compared to what's going on now to be that guy. Defcon 1 is actually the HIGHEST level... meaning that nuclear war has started. DEFCON 5 is the lowest.

I had the same thought when I read it but I passed right on by. 😂 But yeah, it feels like we’re at…DEFCON 3? Not entirely sure, after the last week or so what would constitute getting to 1…but it would DEFINITELY involve Punk legit walking out (it feels like it’s been 6 weeks since THAT rumor started and it’s only been *checks notes* 8 days? Oof!)

The owner of the company calling a released wrestler shit on twitter following some comments on diversity was much more serious than 'a suspension and also CM Punk did a mean thing'

I’ve kind of tried to stay away from this board and other places, since all of this stuff seemed to happen at the same time.
I think it’s due to my anxiety, but usually anything bad that happens to something I generally love, it does make it really difficult to be on this board, especially when it becomes mostly clouded with negativity. That’s on me of course, no one should ever not say their opinions because people are too sensitive about them. Especially something as trivial as pro f***ing wrestling.
Does the drama disappoint me? Kinda. But that generally happens in wrestling companies. It’s just with WWE, we’ve gotten so used to them being f***ed up for so long, it doesn’t surprise anyone anymore. Vince being a sex pest, which while extremely horrible, I doubt anyone was surprised by it. But when drama happens in AEW, even if none of them so far is as bad as anything that’s happened in WWE, it’s so amplified. Because for so long, AEW was an escape from all that. To me, before the Big Swole Saga, the worst things that ever happened was the Sammy/Matt incident at All Out 2020 and the botched explosion at Revolution 2020.
So, yeah the honeymoon is over. But the product is still great on screen, and they just got a Million viewers and #1 on Cable. So it’s not like AEW is sinking or anything. We just have to get over the fact that they are not a new company anymore and bad drama will happen. It was bound too. But it was sure nice to have relative peace while it lasted. Lol

I’ve been watching some old clips from three-two years ago and I need that streaming service yesterday to watch it all over again from the start.

I need a full documentary on those early Georgia/Jacksonville Pandemic shows if AEW ever gets a streaming service. Cody’s speech, The TNT Title tourney, having 15/20 percent of the crew, the rise of the giant Dark tapings, etc. it’s so weird to think I’m beginning to be nostalgic for that lol. But waking up and watching an hour long Dark show seeing what Indy guy could make it big helped me a lot. Feels like a different promotion now. But I’m still confident that things will be smooth some things out.

"I will take your pin, you just have to shoot me" "What?" "Shoot me, like with a gun, here I have one, it's powerful enough that it'll be believable when you pin me, I don't go down to weak shit brother" I’d bet $5 Eddie has pulled a gun from the waist band of his jeans and offered it to some guy on a random indie one shot and said some variation of the same thing to the guy. …..I mean that’s absurd. And satire. And in no way ever happened. But it’s Eddie so you know you paused for a second and thought “ya know…” Don’t lie. We all thought it. 😁 This honestly reminds me of a story Gran Akuma once told on Twitter. Somebody needed a knife backstage at a show, and they were going around the locker room asking if anyone had one. They got to Eddie, and Eddie goes, "what, so just cuz I'm Puerto Rican, you think I got a knife, huh?" Eddie had a knife.

Announcer/ Host; “Who else but Eddie?!” Female Singers; “He’s Eddie….Eddie….you never really know what he’s gonna do next. He’s Eddie…Eddie….” Eddie; *unintelligible swearing in Spanish*

Another bit of weirdness that went under a lot of people’s radar: The same death rider that helped squash Punk? Yeah, Rush kicked out of it. Everyone looked confused. Mox included. It was a clear case of “Rush being Rush” to anyone who knows him but, yeah. Don't let him face Omega! Imagine after a decade of build he kicks out of the owa during a random dynamite tag just because he felt like it.

Can we add Will Ospreay having a Twitter beef with Kevin Nash? ‘Cos no-one saw that one coming.
