When he cashed in. I thought back to his 2016-17 work and everyone said he deserved to have another WWE title run.
So here we are 5 years later. Did you want Miz to have a longer title run? Maybe he doesn't drop it until Summerslam to Lashley?

No.
He was clearly only given the title so Lashley can squash him and they can get Lashley/Drew to Mania. It fits his character to the letter to lose the way he did
Miz is not a person who needs a long WWE title reign, 3 months and he drops it

I don't think he needed it to be longer, no. He performed his role perfectly, and it helped show Lashley could be crafty and vindictive, in addition to formidable.
Honestly, if they ever want to give Miz some big "this is for you" thing, then I wouldn't be against him topping Jericho's IC title win count, which I wanna say he is close to doing already.

And he hasn't held the IC title in almost 5 years

Of course, same way Randy got his title run for letting Brock crack his noggin open at Summerslam

But if they ever let him have a proper face run, then let him hold it a bit. Even with the title run last year, they still owe him for the Shane stuff.

Shane murdered any chance Miz had of making his last face turn work. I'm not so sure it wasn't his own idea to keep going over Miz, too.

There wasn't really enough time. They had to start the build for Bobby/Drew and Miz had to fully focus on the Bad Bunny stuff. I'm actually surprised he held it 8 days and they didn't immediately switch it the night after Elimination Chamber.

I love Miz but no. It was absolutely Big Bob's time to hold the belt and Miz was the perfect clueless dumbass to get stomped.

The sad thing it was working, all they had to do was give Miz his win back.

I don't think he needed a title run in the first place. Just have Lashley win the title at Mania.

Seemed to me like a run that achieved all its goals perfectly

However long it was, like a week? Was too long.

No. This reign served its purpose perfectly.
I do think he deserves one more World Title run tho. Long enough to put over a new face or heel.

Seemed to me like a run that achieved all its goals perfectly Right. He got the heat and then got beat, and was the kind of character who could do that without it really doing anything to harm his credibility.

Since the plan was never to put the WWE Championship onto Drew McIntyre at "Wrestlemania XXXVII", I would have been okay with him holding the title until then and Lashley pinning The Miz in a triple threat match with Drew McIntyre to win the championship. It would have probably added more fuel to the McIntyre/Lashley fued and not made it feel like it dragged on forever throughout the Spring and Summer of last year.
However, the Bad Bunny match ended up being surprisingly decent, and probably the best use of The Miz so he needed to to lose the championship before "Wrestlemania". So, at most you could have only stretched out his second reign until "Fastlane" and probably made story line sense to have him lose it before that premium live event due to Sheamus vs. Drew McIntyre being treated as a number on contenders match of sorts.

No, but he and Morrison should have beaten Braun for the belt for a reign in summer 2020.
