There are a lot of high-drawing people on Youtube who wouldn't still be there if Youtube wasn't structured to excuse racism and didn't play favorites.

The problem with Youtube (and Twitch and the tech industry in general) is their insistence that they're colorblind and program their algorithms to reflect that. Unfortunately, colorblindness is its own kind of racism as it ignores the systems in place in society that prefer one race over others. In Western societies, this is white people. So the algorithms in place in a lot of the tech and web industry tend to treat straight white cisgender men as the default setting at the expense of other groups of people. I don't think it comes from a place of malice, but it's a good example of racism (and sexism, transphobia, homophobia, etc) being a systemic issue rather than certain overtly hateful individuals wearing white hoods and burning crosses.
And then on the other side of things, you have hands-off, automated moderation that all too often gives a blatant free pass to racist and other bigoted trolls. Or stupidity like on Twitch that gives equal (or sometimes even more) value in offensiveness to words like "incel" and "cracker" to the n-word.

Youtube absolutely favours larger creators over everyone else, there are numerous people who would have been banned 10 times over if they were a sub 200k channel. They need to do something about the mass flagging of minority or female run channels, if they can code an all powerful algorithm that can act as a content god, they surely can train whatever system they use for content moderation to forward channels that are frequently targetted for mass reporting to human moderators before any sort of ban is applied. Users who frequently make false reports need to start getting flagged by the system as questionable, if they can't be out and out banned for abuse.

Considering that one wrong video can get your feed assaulted by the likes of Ben Shapiro and friends, they're not wrong.
