Cruel Intentions, 1999.
A bet between Katherine (Sarah Michelle Gellar) & Sebastian (Ryan Phillippe) about if the latter can 'deflower' the new Headmaster's daughter (Reese Witherspoon). If Sebastian can succeed, he gets to mess around with Katherine. "You can put it anywhere." Selma Blair is mixed in there, and all 4 are my age.
You damn right I'm all in!

I don't get it. At all. It's kind of a small horse, I mean what am I missing? Am I crazy?

Show, not a movie, but Friends. And it's weird, because you have at least two characters in Joey and Phoebe who weren't rich their whole lives (hell, Phoebe was even homeless), and then you get to Ross, Rachel, Monica, and Chandler, and it's clear that the latter four have never dealt with a real problem for most of their lives.

I do think they did an episode early in it's run, maybe it's 2nd season dealing with with the financial divide and the other 3 not realising Joey, Rachel and Phoebe are poor compared to them

How I Met Your Mother. A struggling architect and a law student live in a New York apartment way prettier than mine. I'm not too familiar with the sitcom genre, but it seems to consist of rich families or social groups a lot or it's a direct response to it when talking about Married With Children and Malcolm in the Middle. Rarely there seems to be a show like The Middle where the family just happens to be kind of struggling middle class.

Rarely there seems to be a show like The Middle where the family just happens to be kind of struggling middle class. Particularly troubling is that real estate prices and quality of life have become so out of whack since these came out, that those struggling families look a lot better off than originally intended. For city dwellers or even suburb dwellers like myself in high cost of living areas, having a house like the Bundys had is next to impossible. And Al was supposed to be a loser. On the same note, the Atlantic did a piece about The Simpsons in 2020 about how the life that program shows is no longer attainable: www.theatlantic.com/ideas/archive/2020/12/life-simpsons-no-longer-attainable/617499/

Overboard.
Snobby rich woman is shitty to working man…gets amnesia…is used by working man to realize his dream of building a miniature golf course…regains her memory and gets mad at man but ultimately falls in love with him.
You know…typical rich people problems.
