I was thinking of going to the NY show in a few weeks but if there’s going to be a bunch of work/shoot promos I’ll pass. This is the interesting thing about these regardless of shoot or work, sure they get people talking, maybe a few tune in to see what's happening but does that convert to actual sales of ppvs or tickets? Does it alienate people that would have otherwise paid money? Does it drive some people away completely? Are ratings way more important than other revenue now? Personally I'm usually on the fence about PPVs, but after a long run of buying them I've now skipped two largely due to this nonsense, and that was before the scrum. (Forbidden Door I bought the day after as everyone loved it but I won't be doing that this time). And I'm posting this again because the thread I orginally put it in got deleted:

Isn’t MJF like the ultimate dickhead? Why turn Punk heel when a major asshole just won the title shot? Or is MJF a face now? You know what never mind, my brain hurts. MJF knows how to be a face, it's one of the reasons why the dude is one of the best Rudos in the business.

Honestly, reading about all this backstage drama for the past few weeks has been really concerning for me as a fan. I’ve been a wrestling fan for 26 years now and AEW has pretty much kept my fandom alive during the past year and a half, I really don’t want to see the company explode due to ego’s backstage. For better or worse, wrestling has been a big part of my life and it’s helped me maneuver some really dark times. The line between “work” or actual tension has been blurred since the whole MJF incident in Vegas and I have not enjoyed all the backstage drama that’s followed since. If it’s a work, then I’m not at all a fan of the “Russo style car crash” booking of making everything a worked shoot. AEW’s in ring talent and product is good enough that they don’t need to go that route. If there’s actually dissension backstage, then Tony Khan needs to put on his big boy pants and stop trying to be everyone’s friend and start being a boss. His word has to be the law and he can’t just sit next to a superstar while he airs the company’s dirty laundry. If he'd heard Punk start sounding off and just stood up to say "thanks everyone, we're done", I'm not sure how that would've gone. Who cares, he’s the boss and if Punk didn’t like it he could leave, things go bad when the inmates run the asylum

The same John Cena that sabotaged Alex Reilly and others? You say that like it’s a bad thing. Man, at least the memes are fire out of this train wreck. Thank you internet

The same John Cena that sabotaged Alex Reilly and others? Imagine if Cena, after beating The Rock at WrestleMania, sitting down next to Vince at a press conference with ESPN and BleacherReport and Meltz and all the usual suspects out there, took the microphone and blurted out, "Screw you, Kevin Kiley Jr, you share a bank account with your mom!"

I woke up this morning and skimmed through all 44 pages before finishing my coffee. Correct me if I'm wrong, but the gist of what happened is:
Cody Rhodes wasn't around to prevent the Bucks from bringing 54 of Mindy Bakery's Muffins to the show and Tony Khan just sat back and watched Punk eat them while reflecting on his friendship with Colt Cabana after a mutual acquaintance mentioned a previous stage performance. Afterward there was a brouhaha backstage involving a bunch of guys and someone had a baby and it looked at Eddie Kingston and Sammy Guevara and this is all supposed to lead to a face turn for MJF. Is this all correct?

They give MJF a stable and a fancy mask, pay the Rolling Stones beaucoup bucks, and have him win the right to be World Champion in the most underhanded way possible to set him up as the Devil of AEW and Punk wrecks that narrative while eating muffins.

From now on, Punk has to do every promo while eating muffins and licking his fingers when the other guy talks. Anything less than that would be greatly disappointing.

CM Punk found Tony Khan’s secret coke stash. "Goddammit Tony you big f'ing mark, I told you you should switch to Pepsi, this is why the company's in the goddamn state it's in. Did I mention I didn't like Colt Cabana?" Next Dynamite angle is TK opening the show to suspend Punk indefinitely for more Interim title fun. Then two weeks later Punk returns Mr. America style with his new outfit:
