Yeah no it really looks worse to be pulling that in a room where Kenny threw himself into the chaos to rescue and evacuate the dog. It both sets a tone for the Elite's arrival in the room, and also shows that there was someone actively trying to protect those who needed to be not in there. In a reasonable defense, Ace could have worked with Kenny to get his wife and the dog out and then to try and break up the fight. We've seen that in the ways that the suspended backstage people who got sorted out and brought off suspension when they could confirm they didn't do anything. But he threw down alongside Punk and the more distance this story gets, the more it feels like an excuse nobody is going to buy

That's about the best you could expect from Pillman, really. He didn't drop either side in it, he didn't reveal anything that might or might not have happened, and he's not going to get sued. Wins all around.
