I've mentioned it earlier in the thread, but I had a house fire on the 1st and dealing with all of the aftermath of that, moving into a new place, wrangling my insurance while my stuff still sits in the old wreck, etc. while continuing to take care of my family has been a lot. But this thread, man. This thread has been an amazing mess to live through and the generally-intact air of good humour has done so much to get me through a really horrible time, I just gotta give some love to everyone for this shitshow because reading it and shitposting around has made a lot of really shitty days feel significantly more enjoyable. Nothing on your level but the night this all went down, I was going through some stuff. This threads really been a bright spot and it ironically came from such a shitty situation. I’d also like to thank everyone. Feels like we’ve been through a saga. And thank you Chiral, this is a hell of a legacy. |

Page 500 and I think reflecting over all these pages it's pretty fitting that early on there was a Breaking Bad discussion / GIFing because the unique subjective facet about that show reflects how we've seen Punk's real life career. (Mild super deliberately vague 'Breaking Bad' spoilers ahead) The title of the show reflects how those watching it all see different times as to when Walter broke through to being the "bad guy" in the story. For some it was from episode one when he turned down the job offer, for others it was around certain deaths that he either let happen or directly caused. By the end of the series, outside the most fandom-consumed apologists, Walter White is seen as the bad guy despite the good points or values or motivations he seemed to have at different points in the series. From what we've learned of Punk - some hated him since the backstage ROH stuff with Kevin Steen/Owens came out, others when he revealed himself to be a huge hypocrite by accepting a UFC part time featured spot, others when he was an asshole to reporters leading up to the UFC match, others when he super needlessly was an asshole at the UFC weigh-in, others when him turning his back on Colt and breaking his word about covering the legal costs came out, others at the Scrum, etc. Just an interesting parallel. So, without going back hundreds of pages, where does the situation stand right now? I've been hearing rumors that AEW is paying out Punk the rest of his contract, but I haven't seen anything concrete about this stuff at all.

Nothing confirmed From what little people can cobble together based on how the show's been presented, how Khan and others have spoken in public, how the Elite are still being featured on some AEW social media, etc., the prediction is that Kenny and the Bucks will be back soon enough, but that Punk's likely done and AEW will probably buy him out of his contract. But yeah, none of that's confirmed. Anyway, I just nabbed combo tickets for Rampage and Full Gear at Prudential Center, and since I'm content being in cheap seats I think one ticket for both shows combined cost about $75 when Ticketmaster's horrific fees get factored in. This calls for a celebration! I'll head to the deli at lunchtime for muffins and seltzers. |
