Like I am not trying to intentionally piss anyone off here...same team even if I don't sometimes seem like it but I still think there is merit on the fact that this whole situation is a weighing of two evils (one side obviously more obtuse than the other) and that a lot of this could have been prevented without the need to justify so many peculiar actions. Feels like one hell of a stretch with a lot of twisting to call it "a weighing of two evils" -One, Punk started a mess on a critical moment, the media scrum, which is one hell of a provocative move to do in public. Calls out a lot of top guys. -And really, he just calls out the ones in a wrestling role. Cabana, Bucks, Hangman. No word on any non-wrestler working for AEW. If the Bucks are leaking stuff, there should be someone responsible in a purely backstage role who should be responsible. Just feels like paranoia getting the best of him. -I don't know what entails being an EVP of AEW is, but when Tony Khan seemed to go quiet, I feel that the buck, pun intended, fell on the Bucks to act. Not by superkicking a door down, but by quickly getting to discussions with Punk, with a third party present to hopefully hash things out. And really, what Punk did does not do any favors. Damaging to the company, the wrestlers and workers under the company, and how people view AEW. At best, Punk's move on the media scrum is an idiotic move to the company just to prop up his image, and is in no way even comparable to what the Bucks did in response, whatever they may or may not have done prior. and someone stating that what I said was the equivalent of saying "Well you shouldn't have worn a skirt if you didn't want to get assaulted" isn't twisting? come on that's both a stretch and a really horrible thing to say and angle to advocate. We were told to move on from this debate and this is it for me but seriously every response quoting me keeps bringing up what Punk did when that was never the crux of my conversation. I never said Punk was innocent in any of this...just that the Elite are not either and using the term "victim" to describe them is a stretch. My entire sentiment was regarding what The Elite did or didn't do before all the what aboutism. I also do believe the punishment from AEW was satisfactory with the stripping of the titles and suspension...From the beginning all I have said was it's preposterous that they are receiving a heroes return. |

I was on the wrong side of middle school zero tolerance "we can't objectively claim who was bullying who or who started the fight even if there's a blindingly obvious pattern of behavior that the teachers all know about, so we're going to punish everyone involved equally" policies more than a few times growing up, and it sure feels like that sort of mindset is bleeding over into how a lot of folks want this to be handled.

I was on the wrong side of middle school zero tolerance "we can't objectively claim who was bullying who or who started the fight even if there's a blindingly obvious pattern of behavior that the teachers all know about, so we're going to punish everyone involved equally" policies more than a few times growing up, and it sure feels like that sort of mindset is bleeding over into how a lot of folks want this to be handled. You know what I feel this is a fair level headed assessment that isn't a direct derogatory shot at myself and I will even say there is likely some truth to it. My parents had me at 38 and I am 38 now so I do hold older proclivities...I also was in the military and the mindset can be considered somewhat normal in leveling accountability. Not saying it's right or proper but that is culture for us. I have seen this board change dramatically over the last 16 years and maybe some parts of me should have changed with it but I still think there is merit in being responsible for your actions and I feel like a huge part of the aew fanbase has basically absolved The Elite of their involvement. Thank you for sharing this again as I do appreciate being forced to be introspective when my opinions are what I've called obtuse in the past. I am just going to leave that here and finish up by saying as much as I hate their warm welcome back the videos are freakin stellar. |

I think the Elite shouldn't have been there as well even if they're EVPs it was a hostile situation that was set to blow. All of this is entirely Punks fault though |
