Where does "The Elite are mega petty goon monsters who thrive on spite and mean-spirited meme prop comedy" even come from? Is it just the Bucks' twitter bio? Is it anything? They're in a way similar to Cena in that they can take criticism launched at them and joke around with it instead of getting angry about it. And just like with Cena, that makes the detractors angrier.

CM Punk had nothing to do with Colt Cabana being gone but also tensions are escalated by the fact he came back.

I don't think they're mean spirited at all, but the Bucks do sometimes turn criticism into tongue-in-cheek bits. They get mocked for overpaying for sneakers, so they constantly talk about overpaying for sneakers on BTE. They get criticised for being too flippy in the ring, so they add extra flips to everything. The Elite flub a powerbomb on Luchasaurus so they do an entire BTE skit about being unable to powerbomb Nakazawa. I don't consider that mean, it's just them being self aware and having a sense of humour about themselves. Many people hate that shit though and see it for something it isn't meant to be, IMO. Yeah, I guess that makes sense, but wow that is a weird take on goofing on what people say about them.

I mean I remember reading about how Khan was really insisting guys like Meltzer show up by saying "something big" (or something akin to that) would happen. Again I don't think Khan expected it to get that intense but he at least had a idea that Punk was going to go on a borderline pipebomb. Regardless Tony just comes off in that tweet as trying to save face because I still maintain it was a bad look that he just stood there and let Punk go off and did nothing to cut him off. He tried to cut him off several times and Punk kept going, and essentially buried himself. I get tired of the "Khan did nothing" thing, he was quite literally trying to steer the conversation multiple times, Punk held on to the wheel and drove off the cliff, that's on him imo. Oh I agree Khan tried but man he still came off as bad that he almost timidly tried to change the conversation and get overpowered verbally by Punk. It makes Khan look like he has no authority or control.

"If you want me to come to your party then you can't invite Colt, but don't let anybody know I said that or I'll tell everybody your mom buys day old muffins from the toilet store!"

Like how he was afraid Hangman would shoot on him because of the worker's rights line, but talked shit about Hangman long after their match. Quite the conundrums that Punk finds himself in, through absolutely no fault of his own.

Look, there is a SLIGHT possibility that Punk had nothing to do with Cabana's situation.
Buuuuuuuuut spending an entire scrum burying the guy, insulting his friends for being friends, calling them to your domain to talk, then fighting them for entering your domain isn't helping your cause.

Huh, so the jokes about Punk crying into a muffin seeing Colt Cabana on Dynamite weren't jokes after all...

Oh I agree Khan tried but man he still came off as bad that he almost timidly tried to change the conversation and get overpowered verbally by Punk. It makes Khan look like he has no authority or control. Especially with the "I'm trying to run a business" line. That was certainly the worst part of it. Like regardless of what Punk's possible position in the company might have been (if said rumors are true) Punk should not be able to openly say that to his boss. The fact Punk was running amuck like that just reflects poorly off of Tony. Again I want to keep making this point so its not misconstrued as Tony knowing exactly what Punk was going to say but he still knew Punk was going to rant and that in of itself was a bad idea. It's not Tony's fault that Punk went as hard as he did but he should have never let him done that in the first place especially since he had already went off script a few weeks before hand. Tony trying to act like he was just thinking of what he would say with the next couple of wrestlers that were going to come out while Punk openly trashed his coworkers, just comes off as a bad attempt to save face. I feel Tony would have been better off just saying he temporarily lost control and would learn from it as it would have been more honest.

Adding to this for me is the one-sidedness of it. If Colt was doing anythign to take shots back, to retaliate, to speak on it and start picking fights with Punk in turn, I could see where Punk would have cause to keep being angry. But Colt's only comment here has been to say that his Emmy award-winning brother also shares a bank account with his mom. That's it. The kind of person who publicly, angrily lambasts your very existence and resents your every move whiel you say nothing against them in turn is absolutely the kind of person who would do this shit. We're supposed to believe Punk will tell the entire world about this stuff but won't shittalk him to Tony? Seriously?

But that for sure wasnt on purpose by Khan.

If(!) Punk had nothing to do with Cabana not being booked, then of course he would be unhappy with the timing of Cabana's appearance. It further fuels the speculation on Punk's involvement. That snippet is too open for interpretation.

But, but Punk said in the scrum that he didn't care what Colt did or where he worked, yet was unhappy about the Colt/Jericho match. Does that mean...no it can't be....was Punk full of shit?

While his handling was far off the mark, I tend to give TK a bit of a pass when it comes to interjecting at the scrum as I can't imagine the cries of victimhood if Punk was strong-armed into shutting up and the HR nightmare that would ensue. Even if it was entirely involuntary, TK left Punk with all the rope to hang himself and Punk played his part beautifully as being as bad as everyone has long since expected of him.

My biggest issue with that tweet is that while I don't think its Tony's fault at all that Punk went as extreme as he did, it is the fact Tony didn't own up to his mistake that he lost control and just gave a excuse. I think most people sympathize with Tony for how bad he looked in the whole mess but it just rubs me the wrong way Tony just simply couldn't acknowledge that he lost complete control and instead tried to give some sort of BS excuse for why he at best just timidly tried to stop Punk makes me roll my eyes. That and if Tony knew Punk was going to give a pipebomb rant and basically gave him the oaky even if he did not know exactly how bad it was going to get, it still was not a good idea on his end when Punk already took a off script jab at Page.

"For me, I've learned a lot, but the most important thing is, whatever position you're in, if your back is against the wall, just remember that there are people there that you can turn to."
In a way he admits its his fault for putting too much of his trust on Punk tbh
