According to meltzer, it looks like punk got hurt in the match and not in the fracas. Them injuries are pilin up in a concerning way

There was an issue in all those matches where he looks like an unathletic 89 year old man. He just happened to turn 90 before the last two He did more than carry his share in those matches though and he's NEVER been some athletic marvel. Carry his share by drowning in his sweat and having completely unmemorable matches unless they used the Cody shortcuts of bleeding everywhere.

I don't think locker room incidents are that bad or that unprecedented. They happen in every sport. What makes this a mess is Punk continued to make things as public as humanly possible, while a few people with corporate titles may have provoked a fight. That's just an HR nightmare. This all came after a year of many people calling AEW the best locker room they have ever been in.
Still so weird to hear someone go on a public tirad about people being unprofessional, as you are literally in the act of doing something unprofessional.

Seriously, he's had some of his best matches in this run. Even this last one was pretty damn great.

I’m just thankful he doesn’t do the elbow drop anymore. He looks like he just falls like a comet. I know he wanted to do it as a Savage nod, but if that's the case, just do the double axe handle. It's not like many are doing that nowadays, anyway. And then he has a meltdown when people tell him Miz's is better.

He can be replaced by a 90 year old man and it would take at least half a match to notice he’s moving different. Maybe even until after the match when we find out the guy is not injured. You do realize Punk wrestled like 20 matches before his first world title match with absolutely no issue right? And the first injury happened on a stage dive into fans and not an actual match? I get dunking on Punk is cool right now but acting like the dude's been made of glass this entire time or he hasn't been putting on great in ring work is a weird stance to take. Making fun of people for getting hurt on accident doesn't sit right with me, Punk getting hurt like this causing a similar scenario twice is funny, but pointing and going "He's a frail old man who can't move and always gets hurt" is... a weird stance to take. I mean people (including Punk) have been making fun of Kevin Nash for 20 years for coming back from injury and immediately getting hurt again.

I think situationally it can be funny, but acting like he was always frail and moved like an old unathletic man in his AEW matches is something I'll take to debate, dude looked absolutely fine in just about every match outside of botching the Buckshots and that one move with Penta.

I'm not going to sit here and debate someone who's clearly here to troll. Enjoy being miserable.

Punk's never been a natural athlete but he's had some great matches in AEW. No matter how much of a dick he may have been on Sunday, he's still had a good run.
He's just not as athletic as he thinks he is sometimes. I get wanting to put on a great match and do something special, but know your limits and don't attempt topes or Buckshot Lariats.

Who all is suspended? no updates on who is suspended but reports are stating aew's lawyer was with the bucks when they went into punk's room which.. seems to pretty much close the door (heh. heheheheh.) on the story punks side about them kicking the door in lmao.

Honestly, Khan did it to Wardlow. Wardlow beating him was probably always going to be a squash due to the story. But, Khan had him win the TNT title and just become a complete non-entity for months. That did him much dirtier than MJF drama ever did. Total disagree. Wardlow’s win was built for TWO YEARS and the day before it happens the only story in wrestling is MJF no showed a meet and greet and may have chartered a flight. The show after the match he cuts the worked shoot promo and doesn’t sell a thing from the match or the loss. Wardlow got under from a thing they built forever. Now Wardlow is over again. What came after rehabbed him He didn't no-show, he was allowed to leave and allowed to cut the promo the night after (while referencing being in pain from the night before). He didn't bury Wardlow in any way.

People who really really hate CM Punk and never liked him in the first place are really taking the time out to try and play revisionist history and say his AEW run was never really that great and his matches weren't either Like just straight up miss me with that shit by a hundred miles, the dude was straight up throwing bangers on free TV every week at one point. It's unfortunate he's gotten injured both times he's won the title (Just taking the scrum out of that entirely) but for awhile there Punk was literally the ironman of the show, taking on anyone with a pulse, and doing it well.

What's the update on the fight? Do we have an account of everything that happened yet? Who all is suspended? Dave said we'll know Punk's fate, whether suspended or fired tonight. Everyone is suspended during the investigation. Head of their legal department was brought by The Young Bucks into Punk's locker room, which would dispel the notion they "kicked the door down" and show that Punk or whoever on Punk's team leaked their account doesn't know who Megha is. Bucks, Omega, Cutler, Nakazawa, Daniels, Pat Buck have all been suspended as has Ace Steel but his future is very unclear.
