It could have hit someone's dog. If it is Brian the dog, or Poochie, then we may be ok. Poochie needs to be louder, angrier, and have access to a time machine. Whenever Poochie's not on screen, all the other characters should be asking "Where's Poochie"?

You'd have to think if the Bucks had any inclination toward things turning physical, or expected them to, they wouldn't have brought the company's lawyer with them. It turning into a fight was all Punk. Them bringin in the lawyer was a dead giveaway they knew there would be verbal and physical implications. Actually they were going for it and they counted on it which makes their decision to gang up on Punk even worse from EVP standpoint. They certainly didn't go in to discuss Cabana comments with Punk but to discuss Punk putting them into his mouth. It was a immature showdown. Congratulations, you've come into a thread casting serious doubt on the sensibility of the voraciously pro-Punk people and decided to howl "No, no, listen: I'm made of straw! I am just absolutely brimming from all of my seams with straw, don't sell me short, I am even more out there in making absurd and nonsensical arguments for you to do Mortal Kombat fatalities on than you're giving us credit for!"

I recently got back into playing Terraria again, and in the Crimson biome there are these enemies called Face Monsters which charge at you with their huge toothy mouths wide open, and now I can't look at them without thinking of Ace Steel.
That's all I have to contribute to the discourse today, sorry

Actually, does TK own Cult of Personality for wrestling purposes? Or is it an agreement between the band and Punk? That's not how music licensing works. To license a song you need to license both the publishing (the composition - lyrics and notes) and the recording of whatever music you want to play. It's never just a direct band-individual deal as that would render music publishing companies obsolete and make it near impossible for the acts to keep track of who owes them money and get paid. Since "Cult of Personality" is a pre-existing song (in this case by the band's own Famous Chappell music, currently handled by Sony ATV Music Publishing), it can be licensed to anyone who pays for it. WWE had their deal through Sony ATV, AEW has their through Sony ATV, even when the NFL had their Aaron Rodgers television commercials earlier this year with "Cult of Personality," that went through Sony ATV. Make sense?

Being charitable. They knew Punk would cause a fight... somehow and wanted a neutral witness for that was part of a chess game to get rid of him. Why even then, it's still their fault rather than Punk's for him causing all this instead of, I dunno, talking to them. I got nothing. I don’t back Punk on any of this (because it’s clear he’s been an idiot) but I can’t help but think the smartest thing the Elite could have done was not even attempt to talk to a clearly deranged man, high on adrenaline and muffins. Probably would have been better for everyone to let him cool off a bit. But then you run the risk of him going straight to social media all night to further disparage and libel them. This was something that had to be stopped immediately.

Yeah, like, Punk was a ticking time bomb. The Elite went there in Boss Mode (not to be confused with Sasha Banks' Boss Time) to nip it in the bud, bringing the CLO with them.
I don't think anyone expected Punk to throw hands, much less Ace Steel bite a motherf***er. But if this wasn't addressed immediately, it would've festered and gotten even worse. Because between not addressing it and Tony Khan looking like a deer in the headlights when it happened, it would've given Punk the impression he got away with it.
Granted, maybe Tony would've personally addressed it after the scrum was over. But that's something we'll never know.

Also, if we do assume that The Elite knew Punk was going to throw hands and get violent with his bosses if they went to confront him even with a lawyer and other management present then what you have on your hands is a guy who should have been shitcanned anyway. Someone who can go on a deranged, accusatory, paranoid rant about his co-workers to the media and then go attack said co-workers is a f***ing maniac. People keep defending Punk with shit that makes him sound like an absolute sociopath. You're accusing him of worse shit than the people who think he was just a weird asshole and deserves to be fired, but somehow you're defending him with those accusations. It's bizarre.

I have the theory that people are attached to CM Punk because they learned of Cult of Personality through him while I am not because I learned of it from the Guitar Hero 3 soundtrack. I’m old enough to remember when it was a new video running on MTV in heavy rotation….

His exact words in the presser, "If you have a f***ing problem with me, take it up with me. Let's f***ing go!". The Elite had every right to go deal with the situation. It's within their job description to make sure this shit is handled.

I seriously can't believe people are using "Punk was in a bad mood" to justify his actions.
Under ZERO circumstances does that fly. He doesn't get special privileges because he has anger issues. He doesn't want the Elite in his locker room? Ask them to leave or leave on your own accord, or call the police, or do anything other than start a physical fight. That is beyond stupid and should never be tolerated.

Also this whole thing just makes me realize just how ridiculous the world of Professional wrestling is.
Like I don't think there's ANY other industry in the world where we could have seen and heard about the events that happened and people would be on the side of the guy who did the shit Punk did.
I guess I'm guilty of it too since I wasn't (initially) that concerned that one of the Bucks got hit in the head with a chair since Wrestlers get hit with chairs all the time (Yes obviously there's a difference between doing that in a worked match and actually hitting somebody with a blunt object)

True, though there's an alternate timeline where he says incendiary shit on Twitter all night afterwards, maybe even days afterwards, and people ask "why didn't they just talk it out and nip this in the bud?" He definitely put them into a no-win situation.
