I have been in so many different circumstances where I've argued with people that have made me see red. I have never once punched them because I have control over myself. Punk should have had control over himself too. If he's unstable enough that just seeing the Elite gets him punching people, then he shouldn't be in a locker room. I think we're confusing hindsight with what the situation was at the time. I personally don't believe so because if I tell you I am looking for a fight basically and tell you to come find me and you show up then yeah I can see it easily escalating to that situation. If anyone else but them shows up to that door I do not believe the fight takes place. As I said you can't walk into traffic and not expect to get hit. I am absolutely not justifying Punk's actions but it's pretty easy to see how hot he was and how easy it would be for that to go off the rails. By that reasoning (pointing to the bold) you can't ask people to come and speak to you and then throw hands when they do. You asked for it. We can play the "if this didn't happen, the fight wouldn't happen" game for days. If Punk hadn't said what he said in the scrum, the Elite wouldn't have gone to his dressing room at all. And yes, it is easy to see why it went off the rails. It's because Punk ate some muffins and punched someone.

Absolutely and I do agree that it all starts with Punk but unfortunately a multitude of other people made bad decisions throughout this situation as well even if it went as cluelessly as the Elite are portraying. My input today started with the fact that I think it's wild that they are being treated with a heroes welcome after all of this. That was simply my perception as weird as it is...I just don't believe when a person tells you damn near point blank that they are looking for a fight that you can proceed to go to them, get in a fight, then cry foul. Especially in pro freakin wrestling of all things where people are old and tired of working (but not acting like one) with children i guess.

When the Elite came in the room, did Punk tell them to leave and they didn't? Has that been established?

Who's up for a round of CM Punk Target Manager Adventure? You answer: 2. "I brought muffins." CM Punk snatches one of the muffins like a martial arts master snatches a fly with his bare hands and unhinges his jaw to reveal the cavernous maw and layers of teeth in his throat. He devours the muffin in one go, paper and all, and it works down his throat as the layers of teeth chew it, before ultimately spitting out the paper now shredded adn cut perfectly into a paper snowflake. "Banana nut?" he asks. "Banana nut?" Angrier this time. "Do you think you're going to make friends bringing a tray of banana nut muffins to this workplace?" Before you can try to articulate how much you like banana nut muffins and just thought they would be a nice gesture for your first day, alarms start to go off. "I don't think it's going to work out for you here. Ace Steel is coming. We're five aisles over from the chairs. Do you think you can get a head start on him?" Your inventory is eleven banana nut muffins. Exits are to the north, west, and southeast. You are in the children's summer wear section.

Based on Punk holding a million grudges on anything and everyone, I don't see him being calmer a day later.

Mike Jackson rises from the floor and does the Praise the Sun gesture. You are being assisted by a professional. Do you have him: 1. Fight CM Punk 2. Distract Ace Steel 3. Help you search for a weapon

When the Elite came in the room, did Punk tell them to leave and they didn't? Has that been established? NOTHING has really been established yet. That's my problem with the whole "discussion". We've only heard of rumors spread by the usual suspects, nothing reliable.

I haven't commented in this thread in like the last 300 pages but read the last few and will say this
Even if CM Punk was right in some of his points (and I do think The Elite could been leaking some stuff out there) he is still dead ass wrong for how he conducted himself. You went out there with a major grudge and did not do it behind closed doors but in public in front of your boss and the world and did not care how it came across. Off that media scrum he should been suspended in general.
Then you tell people to come see you and when they do you ready to throw hands. That is some big hoe energy he put out there and no "whataboutism" can fix that.
Don't preach to people to act like adults when you are being a child

If Omega can't show up on AAA because he's suspended, how can CM Punk show up and do MMA commentary? I guess he's really done with AEW

The Bucks are... victims? Did nothing wrong? You don't need to be blameless to be a victim. They were victims of assault. What are you talking about?

This is some Grade A victim blaming right here. The fans and maybe Tony Khan himself were the only victims in this situation So going to talk to a coworker with the heads of talent and legal by your side and subsequently getting punched in the face, having a chair thrown at you, and getting bit in the arm doesn't make you a victim. Ok gotcha.

Ok gotcha. My standpoint hasn't waivered; Khan or Megha should have went without the other pieces of the shit show puzzle. The Elite should not have went period. It's like your sibling bringing in your parents and standing beside them with their hands on their hips too, especially after Punk was clearly agitated AT THEM. Once again the fans are the victims here

Hey kids, it's Uncle Mothman here, ready to give some hot and fresh life advice: You do not deserve to be assaulted for simply being in a room with someone who is mad. Your presence is not a reason for violence, and you shouldn't believe anybody who claims that it is. If somebody attacks you because you want to talk to them, then you are a victim of a crime. Full stop.

The "heavily bashed minority" of people who think Nick Jackson deserved a chair thrown at him because they made poor widdle CM Punk angy

It's like your sibling bringing in your parents and standing beside them with their hands on their hips too, especially after Punk was clearly agitated AT THEM. Once again the fans are the victims here You can continue to make as many comparisons as you want to real life scenarios all you want. The fact still remains: CM Punk started the fight with the Elite and assaulted them. Punk doesn't deserve to be left off for what he did because he was agitated and upset. If you are a grown adult and you are upset at a coworker, you should be able to calmly talk things through. If you can't, then you walk away and don't assault them. If I'm already upset at a coworker and that coworker comes in with management next to them and I go and start a fight with the coworker and assault them, I'm going to be fired and even possibly going to be arrested for assault. The same should've happened with Punk. Stop with justifying his actions or trying to put his actions into some sort of context. Punk was wrong and the Elite were victims. End of.
