Not trolling, I am asking genuinely. Like everyone else, I was drooling over the match with FTR, and that happened quietly and seemed to not amount to anything else. A proper build could have led to that match being a PPV main event.
This is the top tag team in the world IMO, and i love watching them wrestle, but can't really put my finger on any great storylines they have directly been involved in AEW.
In reality, they could have had three main event level feuds with FTR, Gallows and Anderson, and Undisputed Era. The first match happened very. quietly and it seemed like they were more interested in just hanging around their friends with the other tag team.
You have Gallows and Anderson follow you around for a year to not even have a match. Like what is the point of that? Then the exact same thing happened with Undisputed Era.

The Omega/Hangman vs. Bucks tag feud through Revolution is still AEW's best work to me. I never cared for the Bucks much until that feud happened.

Honestly, I think that's a general failing of the tag division. There have been some banger rivalries but not as many banger storylines.
Santana and Ortiz had the excellent parking lot brawl with the Best Friends, but the story that led up to it wasn't so good. Hangman and Omega had some interesting stories, but that was more between themselves than their opponents.

Bucks vs Omega & Hangman(and by the end FTR vs Bucks, the story was great even if at the time FTR wasnt)
Bucks vs Lucha Bros(tho most of the story telling is in ring).
They kidna took second billing to Kenny and their feuds with the Hardies..yeh.

The overall Elite/Hangman storyline is arguably AEW’s best and the Bucks were a key part.

I always felt the Bucks are better at in-ring storytelling (if anything, they're underrated at that) than out-of-the-ring angles.

It's just widely accepted as one of the best tag matches in AEW ever so I used it as an example of a tag feud with a better match than story leading to it.

The Bucks vs. Hangman and Omega story was still one of the best in AEW, but yeah they're very muh more about telling a story in their matches, and on that front? Tough to beat them. They've put on so many amazingly told match stories and hold a lot of the best matches in the company period because of it. Is their tag title run an all-timer narratively? No. But their cage match against the Lucha Bros still brought together all the story elements of their schtick at the time and turned it into one of the greatest matches I've ever seen.
Far as the Good Brothers go, I think the real problem there was the end of the working relationship with TNA. Stuff seemed to have fizzled out and ended up a lot smaller in scope than intended. And for the Undisputed Elite, they even shot an angle to advnce stuff, but two of the three dudes are injured and the other guy is kinda worthless especially without the other two. That's not really a narrative failing, that's just reality cutting in.

The whole Elite feud with the Inner Circle and the Omega/Hangman story was all good. Since then, not much. I was really disappointed with the FTR angle but I think someone was hurt while that was going on if memory serves.

They were heading into a better story when they were hesitant turning heel at first. Agreed that the stuff with Hangman was good. It's kinda hard to take them seriously in a long storyline as their matches generally turn out to be the big spot rests on a card. Their heel turn was still pretty much them goofing on babyfaces instead of heels.
