I'm going this Wednesday until Sunday. Never been to Vegas. Long story short my cousins are going to the Nine Inch Nails show there which I'm not but I'm tagging along. I like NIN but not enough to pay over 100 to see them.
Anyways from looking at YouTube vids of Fremont St it looks like a massive shit show in a fun way. Any of you been there and if so what are your thoughts on it?

You like drugs? You're going to be offered a lot of them. Even free samples in some cases!
Also prostitutes. No free samples there though.

Vegas is actually a ton of fun even if you're not into many of the vices it's known for.
Just walking the strip is fun, but you have the Bellagio fountains which go off every few minutes. Penn and Teller I believe still have a show going on. You're not too far from the Hoover Dam and that is also pretty cool. There's also a great arcade that has a ton of old games that we went to. But it depends on how much time you have.

I went about seven years ago. Resist the temptation to check out the Pawn Stars shop, it's overrated. And don't do any of the buffets, they're way better at the new strip.

One of my best friends got married in Vegas in '17, and we went to Fremont St. to do the zipline. That was pretty fun, but we didn't do a whole lot else. Certainly was never offered drugs nor prostitutes!

Went to Vegas in '19 and stayed at the Plaza on Fremont, it was pretty cool to be on the old strip.
That said, when it's not too hot out try walking past the covered area; there's a few pretty cool local dive bars and nice restaurants that way that are still close to being touristy, but less than what's in the full "old Strip" area.

I go often. Haven’t even done the strip in like 10 years. If you’re a drinker, you can spend lots of time just waking around and eating. Check out the new hotel there, Circa. Very cool spot.

If I ever go, I plan on booking 4 Queens, one of the few famous Vegas hotels that doesn’t charge those stupid resort fees, if you go during the week you can get a room there for like 60 bucks a night

But it depends on how much time you have. I'm not a big gambler. When I went (about 23 years ago... right after I turned 21), I sat down at a Blackjack table at the Luxor with $50. I was done in about 10-15 minutes after losing pretty much every hand. I was so mad that I didn't gamble the rest of the time. However, I did have a blast walking the strip. I agree that you can have fun without gambling!

I used to go down there when a retro arcade/bar my friend owned was there...think it shut down since. There was also a collectibles/retro toys store, not sure if that's still around.
Never ziplined, though.

I'm not a gambler but I've put 100 aside to try roulette for the first time and maby a few bucks on a quarter slot machine.
An old friend of mine moved out there and started a cool shop that sells action figures and metal merch so I'll be going there as well. Other than that no itinerary just going with the flow 4 and a half days 😁

It’s a different vibe from the Strip, not necessarily better or worse. Lots of street performers, kind of a Bourbon Street feel. It also has a lot of the historic casinos, but unfortunately the two oldest, La Bayou (originally the Northern Club, the first in the city to get a gaming license) and the Las Vegas Club, have been bought and closed down in the last few years.
As people have said I highly recommend the zip line, and just on the other side of it is the Heart Attack Grill. Eat there, you won’t regret it.

The strip is where all the tourists go and it's harder to win at the casinos. Fremont Street is great and more compact. There's also a spot with a breakfast buffet that serves Hawaiian food instead of basic American breakfast food. You'll also find a beef jerky store on the bridge between the two main casinos. If you have a car and want to gamble, go to the casinos on the Nevada/Arizona border. You'll have better shots at winning and finding restaurants with cheap food.
If you're into alcohol, drinks are free as long as you're gambling. Jump on a slot machine, bet the bare minimum and order a drink of your choice. Even expensive ones.
If you end up on the strip, go to Casino Royale for cheap beer and hot dogs. Slots of Fun on the northern strip by Circus Circus also has cheap hot dogs. Used to have low table limits. The Cromwell also used to have $1 martinis from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m.

I haven’t been there in like 15 years. The hottest woman I ever saw, in person, was on Fremont Street. She was wearing an orange dress, handing out flyers, and I think she liked me. That, or she paid me absolutely no attention. You be the judge.

Fremont is probably my favorite place in Vegas when I'm not playing poker. It is just a shitshow and I love it. You'll have the street performers, women wearing less material than the cotton balls at the top of a pill bottle, some pretty solid music/impersonators, and drinks a flowin.
Only thing I'll say that I don't like about Vegas anymore is that decriminalized weed, it is just pervasive. I seriously haven't been able to walk outside the two times I've been there since it was legalized without being hit in the face with the odor. I'm talking any time from 10 am to 3 am. I'm not trying to throw stones since I used to partake, I just don't want to be smacked over the head with it.

Yeah I don't smoke weed any longer and hate the smell, but I live in Ontario so pretty much every other person on the street is smoking a joint now so I've gotten somewhat used to it.
