I'm a huge CM Punk fan. Only wrestling t-shirts I've bought in 10 years are his & New Day's. I marked out like a MF'er when the guy won the title at All Out. CM Punk should 100% be fired for assaulting his co-workers & never be allowed back. I'm kinda in this boat, too. I'm a huge fan of CM Punk. Loved his work back then, loved his work for the first 8 months he was in the company. Now? I don't want to see him wrestling again for a while. Although someone brought it up to me on Twitter or Facebook that it actually seems to make sense. I feel like they brought Punk in to bring ratings and help build stars. But besides the MJF feud, did anyone really gain anything from working with him?

To be fair (and it's always important to be fair) Punk did indeed bring ratings & buyrates, which helps the company as a whole. Plus both title runs were cut short immediately, so we never got to see if anyone got elevated. The MJF feud was absolute S-tier too, & took up the majority of Punk's time in AEW.

Absolutely. He’s a huge prick and I don’t really care. He’s one of the best and if he actually returns to AEW it will be must watch TV. And Kenny is also one of my favorites and could carry Punk for the most part.

Ok. I still want to see the match.

Nah, even if Punk was just usual dickhead Punk and not a muffin crazed madman, I doubt that I’d want to see that match. Punk can’t really keep up with Omega in the ring and there’s a high likelihood that he’d get injured during the match. I’m sure it would do good business and the match would still probably be good to very good, but I don’t ever need to see it.

Punk has a lot of making up to do first. And it’s going to take a long time if it ever does happen. He’s let a lot of people down.
He absolutely would have to go heel for it I can’t see him as a face now no way.

Even if the rest of the stuff at All Out didn’t happen, the injury alone tells me it might not work. I’m sure Punk could still be okay coming out of a mat based match okay, but I do NOT have confidence he could do another high impact match and not get hurt.

This thread makes me think Punk would have one of the most successful heel runs we’ve seen in awhile when he comes back.

Of course. If all parties and still employed and not injured.
Bret vs. Shawn made a ton of money for the same reasons.

This thread makes me think Punk would have one of the most successful heel runs we’ve seen in awhile when he comes back. It writes itself. Punk going from the guy that stuck up for the fans and brought in change to the revelation that he did it all for himself and became an egotistical diva. He is what he called Cena 11 years ago. He is the New York Yankees
