I have no clue what "baffling booking decisions" is supposed to mean.
Jericho won because it's a major furtherance of the Garcia storyline. Acclaimed won because Everyone Loves The Acclaimed. PAC won because PAC is over and Orange Cassidy will always be over even if he never wins a belt. Toni won because Toni is over, and then they debuted Saraya, who I guess is cleared? Hoping the best for her. Moxley won...yet I wanted Danielson to win. But it was a great match so I'm not really complaining.
"Person I wanted to win didn't win" isn't bad or confusing booking, it's the person you wanted to win not winning.
Nothing will top Omega/Danielson from last year, and the last match of the Rampage taping last year being Mox/Kingston vs. Archer/Suzuki with a cameo from Homicide was absolutely one of my favorite live moments at a wrestling show, but top to bottom I'd say this beat out last year's Grand Slam...and I'm not just saying that because the concession lines were significantly shorter thanks to the venue being much more fully staffed this time around. Some noticeable botches in a number of matches but none that really derailed anything or hurt the live experience (though holy shit, please tell me Julia Hart is ok, that was a scary table miss), but an overall 9/10.

An 8. Really fun. I much prefer Danielson to Moxley but I can't complain about him winning.
One point off for Britt STILL being the centre of the division and STILL no movement on the Jamie Hayter story
One point off for Jericho winning which I was not expecting. A bonus point for the Acclaimed winning so soon after All Out. How nice to follow a wrestling company that gives its fans what they want instead of insisting on angering everyone.

I went 9. I liked The Acclaimed and Jericho winning. Moxley winning wasn't my preference but, I fully get why they did it.
Saraya could be the boost AEW's women's division needs. She's also not shy about telling people backstage when they're messing up.

I'm biased because I was there live but it gets a 10 from me. I was disappointed in Orange and Danielson losing but I'm more than fine with Pac and Mox as champions, and the rest of the night was great - screamed myself hoarse when the Acclaimed won. I have no clue what "baffling booking decisions" is supposed to mean. Jericho won because it's a major furtherance of the Garcia storyline. Acclaimed won because Everyone Loves The Acclaimed. Holy shit this cannot be emphasized enough. Last year was an utter goddamn mess and this time went much more smoothly. I was actually able to get food this time, which was needed to counteract the six or seven beers I'd shotgunned in the parking lot.

I disagreed with nearly every match winner on the show and it was still one of my favorite cable wrestling shows of the year. 2 solid hours of nonstop action

You could argue that having the first three matches all ending with the eventual winner having to cheat to win (Jericho using the bat and a dick kick, Acclaimed having Billy Gunn's assistance, PAC battering Orange with the ring bell) as somewhat baffling.

You could argue that having the first three matches all ending with the eventual winner having to cheat to win (Jericho using the bat and a dick kick, Acclaimed having Billy Gunn's assistance, PAC battering Orange with the ring bell) as somewhat baffling. Certainly warrants a "damnit, D'Lo", but baffling to me would be if there was no reason at all for it - Jericho cheats and further alienates Garcia, Billy Gunn gets involved and it made the crowd pop huge which pretty much justifies it for me (and was just them being sick of Swerve's heeling on them), and PAC's whole thing is dismissing Orange as a viable threat, yet he had to resort to a cheap shot to make sure he stayed down. Doing them all in a row? Fair enough if that felt like too much, but I admit it didn't really register to me while I was watching, which might've partly been from being live for it and partly because Billy's interference felt so different from the others. I will say that I get it if people are annoyed that they didn't take the next step with Hayter, the crowd's ready to pop big whenever they pull the trigger. I'm guessing Saraya showing up means they want Hayter teaming with Britt a little longer, but I still think her finally tossing Baker aside is the endgame, here, and agree it should happen sooner than later. If I'm booking it I let it play out that Hayter decides to be the bigger person and give Britt some benefit of the doubt after All Out, but during what's likely an upcoming trios match with Toni/Athena/Saraya or during some kind of title match around Full Gear Britt betrays her trust again in some way, and it's "fool me once, shame on me..." time...but again, that's just me, so who the hell knows. Also didn't realize Orange has had as many title shots as he's had, but again I think he's fine and very over, regardless of titles. Still, I do want to see him break through at some point, preferably him and Best Friends winning the trios belts together. It's possible that PAC's cheating here builds to that for Full Gear, guess we'll see, though there's still mileage to be had from insane Death Triangle title defenses.

I went 9 but tbh that may be a bit high. Most everything was good. The crowd was hot. But man could they have backed off telegraphing MJF beating the winner? I have no idea what's going on with Jamie, I don't get why Jade isn't in the top women's program nor who the OG baddie in her promo was. But again I enjoyed the show. It just felt like Moxley- Danielson should have been a bigger deal.

Also I saw some of the highlights after I left and they shot the arena much better this year. It looked gigantic and more full than last year despite having 6K less people.

In regards to the Garcia thing, you could argue that they’re just repeating the same beat over and over at this point.
Like he knows Jericho cheats, Jericho has been very open about cheating. So the whole “Jericho cheats and Garcia stands tgeee looking pouty” we’ve seen it before.
DO SOMETHING about it then Daniel.
The worst booking decision on the show by far imo was the Jamie Hayter stuff.

Ok, but it’s already happened like 4 times now. What more does Garcia needs to see before he gets it finally?

That's hard to turn your back on so I get why he's very conflicted. You could see a family member doing some f***ed up stuff and still begrudgingly stick by them hoping they'll change.

I went 8. The show itself was fine, good-to-great matches. I don't think Mox winning is a bad thing like others do.
It felt like any Dynamite visually, though. Like last year, Grand Slam was shot in a way that made it seem like this huge spectacle. This year didn't feel that way to me.

Probably a 9. Overall it was a fun show that felt like a big ppv level event. I am not crazy about Mox winning again and kind of sick of him, but I totally get why they did it. Mox vs MJF is certainly the best angle to have MJF win the belt since they obviously can't have him feud with Punk. Also it was great to see the acclaimed win the belts. There was no real weak match on the card.

I voted 5. Claudio/Jericho was fine though I don't agree with the ending but that's whatever.
Tag match was sloppy and I can't stand The Acclaimed so that brought it down more.
Pac/Cassidy was good.
Women's match wasn't bad nor great.
Mox/Danielson was really good. I would have preferred Danielson winning but I like Mox so I can't complain too much about it

7/10. Damn, i really just wasn't feeling this. Crowd seemed dead after the tag match for the rest of the night, they popped for big things but the sustained electric atmosphere that was there for the first two matches dissappeared.
I don't like Cassidy losing AGAIN, I don't care if it's due to cheating, I'm not exactly wowed by Saraya, sorry, and Mox being champ, as much as I love him, seems just the most boring option.

It felt like the crowd peaked during MJF’s evisceration of Wheeler Yuta. They got back into the womens match near the end and were invested in the title match but not as fiery as earlier.

Three matches with cheating finishes in a row, Toni winning but still getting beat down, more camera cuts than normal, a main event title match where they were overly focused on the guy not in the match and not giving Danielson the title when it feels like it's his time. All very WWE.
Nah, repeating the same things multiple times a show is very aew trope (as is dumb refs even by wrestling standards). It's had got a bit better but this was like when two people got drinks dumped in them in the same show.
Cutting to MJF so often AND him permanently being on the big screen really took away from the main event. As did the crowd being so quiet at points, especially during OC vs PAC
And yet Mox winning is perfectly fine, there were some great matches and moments and in isolation all made sense just made an unsatisfactory whole. Most importantly great to see Saraya. The crowd was hot for all them.
So 7/10 I suppose.
