Really a shame that this was HHH's first real grand gesture of change in his booking era of the company and it jusr f***ing fell flat on its face and I don't think any woman comes out the other end better than where they started It's a shame because there was potential here but it's time to let them do stuff on their own, because they have to rehab them quite a bit after being fed to Bianca, Becky, and Nostalgia Pops for months. The problem was basically he fed them to Bianca. Constantly. And it doesn't help that Bianca has like...no in-ring chemistry with any woman who isn't named Becky or Sasha/Mercedes. And Bianca not selling them like threats even when they first started was a bad idea as well. Part of me wonders if that was on Triple H though, or if it was Bayley being selfless, to their own detriment. Shit Bianca fought off ALL of Damage CTRL at ONCE and still won. And like others said about the opportunities the group has been given: I'm sure Dakota and Iyo aren't complaining, they've had marquee matches, in front of huge crowds, and wrestled at 'Mania in a big match, but they've also been criminally underutilized and buried at every turn. Both things can be true.

...I wonder if the original plan had both Dakota & IYO advancing to further set up the Damage Ctrl implosion.....?
Didn't really make sense for Raquel to have that staredown with Rhea, hinting at her being Rhea's first challenger only to win and get a tag title shot, knowing they're not going to win for the same aforementioned reason.

They've been doing that style of storytelling with Rhea for a while though. She had a long staredown with Becky on a Raw back in December, and that feud hasn't come to be yet.

To be fair both Rhea & Becky were in the midst of their own storylines and feuds when they did that(Becky with Bayley; Rhea with the upcoming Rumble & Beth Phoenix) With automatic rematches no longer a thing, it felt more likely that Raquel will be Rhea's 1st challenger since neither of them really have a feud/storyline right now. Also, felt a disconnect between the Damage Ctrl storyline. Like tonight they just teamed up and lost to make Liv/Raquel to make them look strong heading to a tag title match next week and that was it. Like they could've tossed Chelsea & whomever instead and it would've made little difference. The original plans with both Dakota & IYO entering into the Raw Women's title picture seemed to be a continuation of the story they started last week(with Becky putting over Dakota & IYO and saying how Bayley & Damage Ctrl was holding both of them back; and at WM commentary was putting both Dakota & IYO over big time) Like it felt like they were setting them up for singles runs, and then we got this......

The saddest thing about this is if Vince is back in charge, he never saw anything in either of these women, Dakota was cut and brought back by HHH, and Iyo was in NXT for years, finally called up by HHH
The writing might be on the wall for both of them if Vince takes back control as people seem to be reporting is the case... which would just be even sadder than how their run had gone up to this point tbh.
And given Bayley's absence and tweets? She might go with them, so all in all this whole thing was a rousing failure...

That's fair, though Rhea's also teasing wanting revenge on Bad Bunny for punching out Dom, so multiple intersecting storylines may well remain her thing going forward.

Vince might have managed to run off two of the Four Horsewomen.
THE two who had that iconic Takeover: Brooklyn match.

Bayley and Sasha both ending up in AEW would be wild and seems not so out of the realm of possibility now.
And considering how seemingly close Dakota and IYO have become with her...she can no doubt get them to follow her once their deals are up.
And WWE losing Charlotte to who seems more and more ready to just head for the exit considering how often she takes time off now.
And then couple it with Asuka lookin like she is pissed off at the current state of the division.
Boy that womens division is in a bad state but it may become absoloutley dire quicker than Vince's eyebrows.

I feel like so long as Bianca can lift Piper every week Vince doesn't care if he has a functional women's division or not.

I look at NXT and see a couple of women who can be title contenders on the main roster, not to mention current undercard women. When Sasha left and if Bayley leaves it will just be the next woman up and the conveyor belt of talent keeps moving.

Oh I am not doubting there are very talented women waiting in the wings But losing all those women say around the same time would be MASSIVE and there would be no replacing all that star power for years because as talented as the women waiting in the wings are stand and deliver really showed they just aren't ready for that stage yet. Sure it would fine if those women slowly departed over the next decade but that doesn't seem the case now...Bayley looks like she is seemingly out , Charlotte is ever closer to just being done atleast full time , Asuka is pissed and talking about going back to Japan. IYO and Dakota are absoloutley done because Vince never saw anything in them before (firing Dakota and IYO was never coming to the main roster) and damn sure aint seeing anything in them now.

I think if all those women bounced at once they're probably left with Liv as fourth place in both overness and skill level in the division after Becky, Rhea, and Bianca (not necessarily in that order) and like... Liv's good, nothing against her, but she's not carry-the-company-on-her-back-for-years-while-we-regroup good.

I'll be honest, the only women with a lot of star power that you listed above to me rn is Charlotte (and she is gone all the time now so it's not a major shakeup) and Asuka. I don't think Bayley is going to be drawing main event numbers anymore.
And I like IYO and Dakota but they are just upper mid-card and no division dies because of that. Like is the difference between Piper Niven and Dakota Kai so significant that it will harm the division? I just don't see it rn.

Every woman in the company seems to love her and she's constantly cited as someone who keeps things running smoothly. Her taking off would be an absolutely massive blow to morale.

I don't think it's much of a take to say that Iyo was likely going to be pushed as a main pillar of the division once Damage CTRL broke up. But now that Vince is gone, who the hell knows. The problem now is that the division is stale as hell, which admittedly isn't entirely Vince's fault as Triple H kept feeding women to Bianca as well, but uh...yeah. It'll still be worse under Vince though, as we'll get ten thousand rematches between Bianca and probably Becky over the next six months probably, or whenever Charlotte decides to return.
