Io winning lends itself to fresh match ups and stories. It's definitely not happening.

Good for Io but she's not beating Bianca or Rhea if she goes to SD in the draft so I'm not sure what that leaves for her in the near future other than a feud with Bayley. I say there is a pretty damn good shot at her beating Bianca. 1.Bianca will have Broken Becky's record assuming this match happens at Backlash. 2.She already has held the title for a year+ and won at Mania She has beaten every single woman there is to beat there is nothing left for her and it works out perfectly for her to drop the title and then seeing as the draft is right after she can then get drafted to SD. Io winning lends itself to fresh match ups and stories. She wins the title and Bayley (maybe Dakota to but who knows how she factors in right now) turns on her the next night aka Evolution moment and then you do things like maybe have Dakota also win MITB and Bayley then turns on her to. And also this is the gateway to the match and feud everyone has been waiting on with IYO VS ASUKA at Summerslam. I’d love to be wrong, but I think it’s setting yourself up for disappointment if you think Iyo is going to beat Bianca for the title anytime soon.

I do think Bianca is retaining, but there is a lot of weight behind the argument that Bianca really shouldn't either. She will have broken the longest reigning record as of Backlash, and her reactions are getting worse and worse every week, because she's so one dimensional as a character. Iyo holding the title would add a lot of fuel to the Damage CTRL breakup, while Bianca would be freed up to move to Smackdown and chase after Rhea, which is a hell of a lot more interesting than what she is currently doing, which is nothing.
WWE trying to wait in hopes of that "one special person" to come along and beat Bianca at this point is a fools errand, because Bianca herself has shown she can't act worth a damn, and never puts anyone over as a threat. I really can't see her reign dragging on for much longer, as she's doing more harm to the women's division than Roman has done in the past few years of the Bloodline at this point.

It is quite interesting that Damage Ctrl is at it’s most interesting....just as they are about to implode. They can go in several directions here. The backstage segment seemed to tease Bayley, as the possible Face when she sacrificed her own ambitions for IYO and Dakota. But, then during the match and post-match, she was all mopey and depressed at IYO, in contrast to Dakota, who was Uber excited and happy for IYO. IYO is likely getting a title match at Backlash; Dakota I could possibly see getting one afterwards, or possibly winning the QotR tournament. So many directions they can go: Do Dakota/IYO turn on Bayley?; Does Bayley turn on Dakota/IYO?; Does Bayley turn on just IYO and Dakota is stuck in the middle trying to play peacemaker? Tonight’s show definitely felt more in line and consistent with the story they were telling with Damage Ctrl. The Raw before WreseMania and WrestleMania itself they were putting over how great Dakota & IYO were and all their accomplishments(pre-Damage Ctrl before becoming Bayley’s lackeys); whereas last week they just looked like scrubs getting rag dolled by Raquel and Liv. It is interesting in that I don't really know where they are going with it. I guess they are doing the Evolution type split with basically Bayley as HHH, Iyo as Batista, and Dakota as Flair. However like you said they had Bayley give up her spot to Iyo which was pretty selfless on her part. But then her enthusiasm came off as forced off after Iyo won unlike Dakota who seemed genuinely really happy for her partner.

Nice little touch to the story they're doing.

Commentary, or at least Kevin Patrick made sure to point out that Bayley really did not look happy that Iyo won either. He claimed she was just faking her happiness. And on RAW Talk last night, you could see Bayley being completely deflated while Dakota and Iyo celebrated and made fun of Byron.

I was expecting Bayley to end up face after their split. Maybe that was just wishful thinking on my part though because I'm really bored of her as a heel. It definitely seems now though that Bayley is the insecure/jealous one and she'll stay heel at least for the Damage CTRL feud/fallout. Maybe she costs IYO next week (either intentionally or "accidentally").
I'm not sure if IYO and Dakota both end up faces coming out of this. It can mess up the psychology if you end up with one heel v two faces. I remember the Legacy split in 2010. In the months leading to it Randy was a complete dick to Cody and Ted and they were completely justified in leaving him but once the split actually happened fans cheered Randy despite the way he treated them because he was the more established star in their eyes and he was at a disadvantage, fighting two guys by himself.
Or maybe they don't bother with a big feud and just pull a Miz/Morrison in 2009. Miz turned on Morrison on the draft show when they were drafted to separate shows and they never had a proper feud.

Bayley has talked about how she enjoys being a heel more than a face. And trying to get the fans to boo Iyo at this point with as much as she's been showing off over her past few matches is not going to work. Also I don't think the match is next week, as they likely would have mentioned it if it was. They didn't. Odds are it'll probably be at Backlash now.

Quite frankly I'm surprised you haven't considered the possibility that this means that Iyo has just replaced Asuka for being the Japanese woman who gets pushed from time to time. Asuka hasn't been on the show or even mentioned in a great light for the last two weeks. But you know, that's just me.

It might just be a thing where Bayley tried to argue her stance but Pierce heard what went on just outside his "office" and picked IYO...because even when they came out Bayley was noticably unhappy that IYO was getting the oppurtunity. I assume they left that up to interpretation so they could bring it up later revealing what Bayley had said to pierce and probably involved throwing them both under the bus.

Yeah, I like Bayley's little smile there whilst Kai is looking concerned. Nice little story telling touch there by Bayley IMO.

I mean they could maintain the psychology of the program by having Bayley replacing Dakota & IYO with either 2 NXT callups or perhaps Chelsea/Sonya, people who have less chance of overstepping their bounds and defying her as Dakota & IYO are apparently starting to. {Spoiler}{SPOILER: CLICK TO SHOW}Apparently, according to Boozerrasslin, Dakota is also facing Bianca on Raw. I would normally be upset with them using Dakota in the typical “Tag partner/Stable member getting jobbed out to build heat for title match” trope. But, apparently, this match will be used to increase tensions within Damage Ctrl. So, I wonder if she ends up losing due to Bayley “accidentally” costing her the match(I mean Bayley did get taken aback by Dakota & IYO defying her for the first time ever and expressing their own title aspirations last Monday; and she did look upset and jealous throughout IYO’s match on Raw especially when she ended up winning. Note how Bayley was smiling whenever IYO was getting rekt, while Dakota was showing worry and concern.)

Both their characters would actually be far less likely to take orders from Bayley then Iyo and Dakota have. Chelsea is a big mouth who always has to be right and Sonya has been presented as being pretty authoritative. As far as Dakota goes it will be interesting to see what role she plays. Even though she has come off as supportive of Iyo, having both of them as the faces against Bayley would be a weird dynamic in that it would be the heel being outnumbered. Unless Bayley gets different lackies like you said. I honestly could see them doing something where Dakota is just simply drafted to a different show from the other two to get her "out of the way" while Iyo and Bayley feud.

We'll probably find out Dakota's role in this soon enough, since (RAW Spoilers): {Spoiler}{SPOILER: CLICK TO SHOW} I guess Bianca Belair vs Dakota Kai is set for RAW tomorrow according to the guys who leak the rundowns.

Dakota's role is going to be super interesting because right now she clearly seems very in support of Bayley and IYO and is always super happy when they have success.
Like she is playing that unbeknowest mediator that does not want to rock this boat but is going to have to choose a side sooner than later while Bayley and IYO but super alpha female heads , there are so many interesting narratives they could go with and it really will really kick into gear with whether IYO wins the title from Bianca.
