So why are we supposed to take these clowns seriously as a threat at this point?

That was weak? Typical heel build to a match where they’ll likely come out on top and have all the gold come Saturday.

Who here wants to bet that Damage CTRL will get punked out again on Friday by Shotzi and/or Raquel at this point?
Also people are calling this stuff weak because it is. Damage CTRL is not a threat in the slightest. They are basically one step removed from a toddler being more of a threat than them.

Just because the booking is being done in a more professional manner is not a guarantee that the creativity is going to be any better.

That weak reception Bayley had in San Jose was....something. The fact that the tag titles are barely defended doesnt help

The tag champs are just being used as cannon fodder in a singles feud. This is why Sasha and Naomi left.
And why are Asuka and Alexa even there, Super-Bianca clearly doesn’t need them.
Oh and now we’re getting Candice vs. Dakota next week, which is not encouraging either.

I think a review I saw of the show brought up a good point in that audiences have had zero reason to invest in Damage CTRL as a group because they are constantly portrayed to look like absolute losers. You had Dakota Kai lose in 90 seconds to Raquel last week and all of Damage CTRL chased off by someone who has only won two matches this entire year, despite Damage CTRL having the numbers advantage. It made them all look incredibly weak.
You then had Iyo have a 20 minute match with the RAW Women's Champion, and despite the match being 20 minutes long, it was almost entirely yet another showcase for Bianca's athleticism, and not a showcase for Iyo, who could have used it way more. With Bianca never looking in any sort of danger the entire match. It made Iyo look incredibly weak, because not once did Bianca ever look threatened or in any sort of danger.
And of course, they had the backstage stuff last night, where now Damage CTRL is outnumbered as Candice has joined forces with Bianca, Alexa, and Asuka. And Dakota is likely losing to Candice next week as well.
Another review of RAW also brought up a good point in that WWE has done a REALLY bad job of portraying Iyo as a potential big deal star if last night was any indication. It pointed out that Iyo facing Bianca probably wasn't the best idea. The match was "good" in their eyes, but all it really did was portray Iyo as firmly below Bianca in the hierarchy, putting a pretty hard ceiling over her career in the company. It's hard to believe she'll ever be a top champ, because of how bad the match was last night, in terms of layout. Triple H is pretty clearly putting all of his chips onto Bianca and Raquel right now as the top stars of the company, even though Raquel already isn't working out, and Bianca's face run is actively harmful to whoever she feuds with.
That's ignoring Alexa and Asuka here, who are basically just decorations for Bianca's matches now, as they do nothing and are being squandered.

It is of no surprise to me because HHH clearly laid this out years ago. And with Dakota and IYO losing to 2/3rds of that in the span of a week he is reinforcing it. The saving grace for IYO atleast IMO is that she is unlike anyone else in the division in the ring and IMO is the absoloute most consistent in ring female they have and that will be her saving grace as far as not ending up as just another body in the long run.

Iyo isn't even going to have that to fall back on. Social media AND the IWC has turned on Iyo. Hard. And fans who attend live events don't care about her because she's been constantly portrayed as weak and ineffective. I think at this point it's a pretty blatant hatchet job on the part of WWE creative, and they are going to get away with it.

She doesn’t need to be pushed as a world-beater singles competitor from Day 1. And she already has gold after being on the main roster for less than 2 months. People’s favorites don’t need to win and always look strong to be fine moving forward. She’ll be okay.

I am not willing to go that far on declaring IYO is completely wrecked and there is no coming back as she has not even been on the main roster even six months let alone a year/years down the line. And also IYO has been in this sort of position before...she had a difficult time outta the gate initially in NXT....and was just constantly doing the job to Shayna but then it clicked for her and then she went on an amazing tear as one of if not the best NXT womens champion of all time. I am not saying it is a guarantee HHH is gonna back her the same way on the main roster but also I can't talk in absoloutes as far saying he wont because say what one wants about the results , the quality of the matches but he put IYO against the Raw womens champion twice now in lengthy matches...it aint like he sent her out there to wrestle Dana Brooke on main event. I am juat saying I think there should be some patience here.

Both Dakota and Bayley have won singles matches and look strong (or protected) in them. Yet Iyo pretty much got fed twice to Bianca and looked awful both times. It's really obvious that Iyo is the lowest valued member of Damage CTRL considering how little they actually try to build her up compared to Dakota and Bayley.

The other way is....Dakotas one singles win was against Dana Brooke...where as IYO in her singles matches is the one slotted against the champion , we may differ but I will take IYO win , lose or Draw fighting the champion over her having to slum it with Dana Brooke. But also the other part is maybe HHH feels he does not have to protect IYO , that he knows and respects her level of talent enough that he has full confidence a loss is not going to harm her atleast in the long run. Hell my biggest issue lastnight was not the match itself but the fact that Bianca took out Dmgh Cntrl all by her damn self without needing Alexa and Asuka IMO that is what did the most harm to them , hell that damaged Alexa and Asuka to because it becomes a thing...well why the hell are they even out here Bianca can clearly handle this on her own.

Oh and now we’re getting Candice vs. Dakota next week, which is not encouraging either. Next week is the go-home show for Extreme Rules, so I don’t expect them to do a repeat of the go-home for Clash where Dakota loses and Bayley & co get chased off. That really doesn’t sell the stipulation. My guess is either Dakota wins with outside interference(or she loses via rollup/DQ) and we get a post-match attack with Damage Ctrl about to use the ladder on Candice, but Bianca & co. makes the save.

I think people would be less down on it if:
1. The group wasn’t chumped out on SD as well.
2. Both Bianca vs. Iyo matches weren’t so incredibly one sided. I think Iyo got like three moves the entire match that were not immediately countered by Bianca.

I think last week might’ve been one of the few times where Damage CTRL had the upper hand.

It’s not making Asuka and Alexa look good either.
Then just standing their essentially being Bianca’s cheer squad because Bianca did not need them to take out all of Damage CTRL, she did it herself. Those two looked like dorks last night.
No wonder Alexa looks bored a lot of the time.
