Well after ending 1995-1996 I decided to create a new thread for the 1997 PPV'S
WCW won December 6-0 So WCW leads right now in ppv's 10-4!!
Again, if you are new, you are NOT picking which PPV ended up best. You are picking on which PPV you would have picked based on the card if you only could have watched one. Price doesn't matter none of that. You can either pick the WWF card or WCW card, which one ya got January 1997
WWF Royal Rumble
1)Hunter Hearst Helmsley (c) (with Mr. Hughes) vs Goldust (with Marlena) Singles match for the WWF Intercontinental Championship 2) Ahmed Johnson vs Faarooq (with Clarence Mason, Crush, D'Lo Brown, J. C. Ice and Wolfie D) 3)Vader (with Paul Bearer) vs The Undertaker 4)Canek, Héctor Garza and Perro Aguayo vs Fuerza Guerrera, Heavy Metal and Jerry Estrada Six-man tag team match 5)30-man Royal Rumble match for a WWF Championship match at WrestleMania 13 6)Shawn Michaels (with José Lothario) vs Sycho Sid (c) Singles match for the WWF Championship
WCW/NWO SOLD OUT 1 Masahiro Chono (nWo) VS Chris Jericho (WCW) 2 Big Bubba Rogers (nWo) VS (WCW) (with Jimmy Hart) Mexican Death match 3 Jeff Jarrett (WCW) VS Mr. Wallstreet (nWo) 4 Buff Bagwell (nWo) vs Scotty Riggs (WCW) 5 Scott Norton (nWo) defeated Diamond Dallas Page (WCW) 6 The Steiner Brothers (WCW) (Rick Steiner and Scott Steiner) vs The Outsiders (nWo) (Kevin Nash and Scott Hall) (c) Tag team match for the WCW World Tag Team Championship 7 Eddie Guerrero (WCW) (c) vs Syxx (nWo) Ladder match for the WCW United States Heavyweight Championship[2] 8 Hollywood Hogan (nWo) (c) vs The Giant (WCW) for the WCW World Heavyweight Championship

I'd go with the Royal Rumble that year as I started to get into the Austin/Hart feud and the Souled Out card didn't do it for me.

I actually DID get to watch this Royal Rumble live on PPV, thanks to my girlfriend at the time surprising me with it.
Royal Rumble +1
I would have been curious about Souled Out but the card really doesn't look very good.

Easily Royal Rumble, always a favourite event of mine, I never thought you could ever have a bad Rumble (Until 2022 disproved that theory)
Also The NWO stuff was starting to get a bit tiresome.

I would have been tempted to see what an NWO branded PPV looked like but the card just didn't look good enough for me to choose it over the Rumble so I'm going WWF for this one. It being the first massive stadium show since Summerslam 1992 would have been a selling point too.

Royal Rumble, for sure.

The Rumble card is definitely on the weaker end of Rumble shows, but it's still got more to offer than Souled Out. Though I do maintain the aesthetic and commitment to presenting itself as an nWo PPV and not a WCW show is something that I think invader style factions could learn from.

Not gonna lie, I probably would've picked Souled Out at the time.

I did pick Souled Out. I got all WCW PPVs from Bash at the Beach and no WWF PPVs until Souled Out. Souled Out must have ruined me on wrestling because I stopped watching after that and didn't start up again until June 1997 and didn't get a PPV until Summerslam 97.

Superbrawl. The main event to In Your House sounds good, but the undercard is pretty weak.

I was expecting to say Superbrawl as I'm generally not a fan of the In Your House shows but looking at the cards I'm actually going to go with WWF.
The guarantee of a new WWF champ would have probably sealed the deal for me even if the undercard wasn't good. And I still didn't care about WCW Piper and him main eventing. Also putting myself in the mindstate of Feb 1997 I don't think I would have even cared about something like Jericho v Eddie. I think this was still before they both clicked and really got over with WCW crowds. DDP/Bagwell is kinda the same. It would be a bigger match a bit further down the line but they weren't really there yet.

That WCW card is so fun. Also Piper vs Hogan is a legendary feud. I’m a sucker.

The WCW card is very solid so I'll go with WCW. I can't believe Lief was still being used on PPVs, he was total jobber status by late 1996. Same goes for Bart.

Missed another. Would've gone rumble. First wwf win for me. But the rumble always wins.
For February it's superbrawl. At the time I thought piper was taking the title and I really wanted to see hulk lose

January? Royal Rumble. February? Super Brawl. As was said before, the WWF title match at In Your House was awesome and I thought it was definitely worth the price of admission, but the undercard was not.
