It used to be that the subscriptions sidebar on the front page on youtube used to be in alphabetical order. Now it looks like the channels who've updated first are up top , but not in alphabetical order, while the rest of the channels are in no particular order whatsoever.

Yeah, it's kind of a pet peeve that I can't for the life of me tell how the subscriptions are sorted. It's certainly not alphabetical, doesn't seem to be in the order that I subscribed to them, though it looks closest to that than anything else, and it doesn't seem to be by most recent update. Wouldn't be surprised if it's sorted by some hidden algorithm value for channel clout or something of that sort. I also hate that there's no option for actually sorting it.

Mine appears to be by the channels I watch the most. The channels I watch all/virtually all of the videos from are at the top, but the ones I only dip in and out of are lower down.
