I guess we can thank her loser boyfriend for taking this mysterious yet extremely charming and alluring beauty away from us. She was a real life 21 year old dancer and the office loved her and wanted to sign her to a contract. However her insecure boyfriend who was allowed backstage didn't want her to sign. After she broke up with him she called saying she changed her mind but they had already moved on with Summer Rae.

That's a bummer. I do kind of wonder if that hurt Fandango. Having a non-wrestler in that role was a non-trivial expense, I am sure, so I kind of wonder if that made WWE want to push him that much more to justify it. When you start making it cheaper, you make it more of an easy thing for them to put him on the back burner.

Duuuuuuuuuude that fxxxing sucks. Fandangirl was so much better than Summer, they should have had a moment of moments when Fandango dumped Summer for his OG.

Kind of funny that a "civilian" who knew nothing about the business was way better in the role then women who they had under contract. It's kind of cool that the people in charge were high on her as I remember a lot of us on here at the time while we were crushing on her noticed how good she was. She really had a presence about her that Summer and Layla lacked and for someone with no wrestling knowledge had really good heel facial expressions. I remember reading an interview with her a few years later after her short run where she seemed kind of snooty towards the business. Although I guess maybe it was sour grapes that they decided to move on with Summer when she asked if she asked for her job back after she refused their initial offer.

Without knowing any details it’s easy to say that the boyfriend is insecure, but when your girlfriend is an attractive 21 year old that is very likely naive about the business and she’s surrounded by an entire locker room of ripped dudes that are horny AF and at least two lecherous clowns in the office and it’s hard to blame this guy for feeling that way.

Didn't Fandango get a concussion right before he was supposed to face Miz and Barrett for the IC Title? Axel ended up in the match instead and won the belt. Imagine if 'Dango hadn't gotten hurt...

Going to play devils advocate and say replacing her with Summer, or another actually trained worker was the right choice. Yeah she was lovely and played it to the hilt, but she was not a wrestler, it was not her lifelong dream to be a WWE superstar. She enjoyed it fir her time, but I imagine the travel would have worn out on her fast. Not being a ring worker would have gotten incredibly limiting very fast. With Summer you could have her involved in Fandango’s stories or feuds. The fact they totally misused both him and her doesn’t change the fact that Fandagirl only worked as a prop,

I do like Summer Rae and think that she, Layla, and Rosa all brought something to the role, though I feel like it's no contest that the original was the best actual dancer. Just conjecturing, but it sounds like the arrangement was very last minute. It would arguably have been cheaper and easier to just have Summer or any of the other women on roster just take a few weeks of ballroom lessons before debuting Fandango on tv. Hell, they could have paired him with Layla, who is a trained dancer, from the beginning. The whole shtick feels like one of those Vince flash in the pan moments where he latched into it and then lost interest the indent a new toy presented itself.

She got an opportunity that most professional dancers, whether they are Rockettes, Alvin Ailey, or just chorus in Vegas or on Broadway, can only dream of: to be on national, even international tv, get paid for it, and even gained a small fan following for it. That it did not lead to more tv opportunities would leave anyone a bit embittered. And the blizzard world of the industry would seem crazy to anyone who is not in the know, even if they enjoyed their brief time in it.

Getting an actual professional dancer was the cherry on top of "the Fandango Experience". That's the sort of detail that used to put the WWE over the top and set them apart from the rest.

Well, her smart boyfriend saved her of future awkward interactions with Vince & Johnny Ace about pole dancing and how she should try that

Like on one hand I get it but on the other hand he coaxed his girl out of what potentially could've been a big career opportunity where she would've made really good money so it was still a d**k move on his part.

She was a much better dancer than Summer because she was a proper trained ballroom dancer. With Summer though as its been said since she was a trained wrestler she could get more involved.
