Weird how they built a PPV around one (KOTR) if Vince didnt like them The very first ppv WWF ever did "The Wrestling Classic" was a tournament. And it was so bad, I’m shocked it didn’t kill all tournaments in the world.

I like tournaments and they can be extremely memorable, but...
From a booker's perspective, you're essentially putting ONE guy over, and the rest of the guys take losses or cheap DQs.
From a worker's perspective, it must be tough to have multiple quality matches in one night, with different opponents. Not just due to fatigue, but also planning out the matches.
From a fan perspective, it requires extra suspension of disbelief when you know they'll squeeze the tournament into a 3-hour event. You're anticipating a shock quick pin, a cheap double DQ, etc.
So, I think they CAN be great when used to tell a very specific story, like Survivor Series 98, but I think they're riddled with issues and if I'm a booker trying to put on a good wrestling show, I'm sticking to basics.

Can't speak for TV, but they sitll happen on the indys. Like DPW is holding one in a couple weeks There’s a cool twist; the 4 winners then face off in one match. Could be the future of one night tournaments.
