Should Dean Ambrose have gotten more than 1 WWE title reign?

Now that he's staying with the other company for a very long time. Looking back at his WWE stint. Should he have had more than one WWE world title reign?

After losing the belt to Styles, he slides into the mid-card for the rest of his WWE stint. Could he have at least been a one time Universal champion? Ambrose vs. Wyatt would've worked a lot better than Wyatt vs. Rollins.

Yes, additionally his match with Triple H was very good and should've been at Mania where he'd start his second reign.

I think he was deserving of maybe one more but I don't know where you would've been able to fit it in. Honestly I don't really remember much of what he did after he lost to Styles until he turned heel on Seth. I remember him winning the IC although I can't remember from who (likely Miz) and then feuding with Corbin leading to a match at Mania that was so low in importance that it got bumped to the pre show after the feminists bitched online about the SD Women's title five way clusterf**ck being on it. I don't remember what he did the rest of 2017 other then he got hurt somewhere in there and then returned in believe summer of 2018 as Seth's backup against Dolph and Drew which then led to him turning on Seth to start his crappy heel run.

So even though I like him I don't know where you put the title on him again post 2016. He was hurt and out a while, then his heel run sucked and wasn't deserving a World Title run, and then his contract was up and he left.

It's not the number, it's the quality of the reign(s).

His reign had a perfect start where he not only got revenge on Seth, but did EXACTLY what he said he would do - win the Ladder match then become WWE champ the same night. It stayed hot when he won The Shield Triple Threat.

Then, SummerSlam, and his dance partner was choke artist Dolph Ziggler, who thanks to years of stop-start pushes and that woeful feud with Rusev, the audience had given up on.

WWE really needed to give Mox a credible heel opponent for SummerSlam, so I would have just given him a credible opponent at Summerslam, have him lose the title to AJ in the fall, then have him face either Miz or Cena at Mania for the title. Mox deserved far better than the preshow with Baron Corbin.

Thinking about how great Nakamura beating Styles for the belt, turning hell and then feuding with Ambrose for the title would have been in 2018.

EDIT: Wait, Ambrose was injured for most of Styles' reign, wasn't he?

I mean, sure. It'd be hard to argue he wasn't underutilized at points. I'd say Nakamura coming up short against Styles was a bigger mistake, though.

Absolutely & his first title reign should have been longer. I was a huge Ambrose fan post Shield & he was great but I always thought he should have been a mega star for them.

YEah, the HHH vs. Dean match was leagues better than the HHH vs. Roman one...

Dean tended to be like the most over guy on the roster and the guy that ran double duty when they needed someone to do it... hell you can easily argue he should have been the Guy over Roman, just by his reactions alone.

He and AJ Styles were some of the best parts of 2016 WWE. There are many things wrong with his WWE run and not giving him another world title run is one of them.

I can't help but wonder how his career would have went if Triple H took over years ago.

I think he was going to get one as a heel, but he decided he was going to leave and they just let him fade to the background.

They should have done a Shield triple threat Mania main event as soon as possible and Dean wins that one. Maybe 33?

He definitely would’ve been a better option than like, Bray, Jinder, or “out for a pack of smokes” Brock. But meh; for me there’s a lot more guys I would’ve rather seen get another title run over him, or just even one to begin with, like KO, Sami, Finn, Nakamura, Cesaro. So no for me.

Given they had two titles he absolutely should have.

That said, Moxley is just better than Ambrose, and I always felt Ambrose was over enough but not who I would have been strapping up much without some significant rewrites

I wouldn't have a problem with it at all if it wasn't the least hyped and least important match on the card. I've actually enjoyed and been more interested in the women's stuff for the last six years however what's fair is fair. For that Wrestlemania that year that honestly should've been the Pre Show match. Instead of a match that featured Ambrose who was a much bigger star then everyone involved in that women's five way (Becky and Alexa hadn't become major stars yet) and had a build that included attempted murder with a fork lift.

There's no way that Smackdown women's title match should have been on the pre-show. Since 2015 the women's titles are supposed to be world titles. A men's world title would never be on the pre-show. Plus Becky might not have been The Man yet but she was still massively over and her feud with Alexa/Mickie had been a major part of Smackdown for months plus you had Naomi returning in her hometown trying to regain the title.

That doesn't mean I think Ambrose/Corbin should've been bumped. They could've managed to fit them both on the show but for sure that women's match should have been on the main card.
