Triple H has been signing everyone he can. We've all seen Cardona's work since leaving. He would be a great upper mid-carder and hand for the company.
But maybe Triple H wasn't as big of a fan as others in the company might have been?
Do you see a chance he returns under the Triple H regime?

I'd rather not tbh. I honestly don't see him getting booked any better than his previous run.

Cardona would've been a miles better signing than the f***ing Good Brothers and Hit Row.
Let him do his indy shtick and he will get over as a heel.

Never say never as Cardona was not thrilled with WWE when he got fired. But also Cardona's stock has risen so much more since leaving while the Good Brothers saw their stock plummet.
So if he did come back it'd be under his terms

I think he'd get a nice "welcome back" response, but as much as it pains me to say it, I think his WWE career hit its ceiling around winter 2011-12. He was never going to be a world champion, but he clearly had the backing of the fans and was pretty well regarded as an upper mid-card face.
You cannot argue that the run was too short and he had his legs cut out from underneath him time and time again and was made to look like a total goober on too many occasions, but I also don't think he was ever going any higher than United States Champion and the upper mid-card, especially with the main event faces of that era being The Rock, John Cena, CM Punk, Randy Orton, and Ryback, with Daniel Bryan's groundswell growing as well.

Would be alittle defanged doing that in the WWE itself, no? That gimmick makes more sense in Indys and rival promotions that do something different

Considering the dude was pretty much defined as a jobber at the end of his WWE run, I don't see how he would come back as anything more than that, especially as his gimmick he's been using won't work in WWE.
I think he's better off outside the company.

Knows WWE style, is reliable, and gotten over numerous times with all sorts of crowds, why not?

Sticking up the finger, being the "King of Hardcore" etc. Cardona plays the piece of shit heel really well. If it was up to me, he would come back, get a big push and be the one that retires Edge.

He's not a Triple H NXT project, so the chances are much lower than other's

Miz has had a similar gimmick at times and made it work quite well.

I’d like to see it. I’ve thought about it like weekly since HHH has taken over.

Sure. I think Cody said he was one of the people who told him to take the WWE deal
He's having great success on the indies but I can see a watered down inverse version in WWE if he goes back. He knows the style, good locker room guy so no real downside

I've been thinking he was a lock to return since Triple H took over and I'm still thinking that. Present day Matt Cardona seems like a dude that HHH would absolutely love, would probably get a rly good return reception, and AEW's definitely not signing him.

He's not a Triple H NXT project, so the chances are much lower than other's This sums it up. I think Hunter didn't really "get" Cardona as well during his peak in 2010-11. If he did, we wouldn't have Pedigreed him in 2011 when he was at his peak in popularity.
