It goes without saying...the less we relive of 2020, the better. This included.
(As you recall, back then I likened pulling/losing the Peanuts specials then to WPIX NOT bringing back the (rediscovered) Yule Log post-9/11. We needed as much comfort TV as possible.)
But...I guess this is like when classic TV migrated to DVD. It's still there but you gotta pay, and it's not the same feeling as knowing everyone was watching it at one time.

Doesn’t WPIX still broadcast the Yule Log? I thought they did. I know Antenna TV still does.

Being honest, let's not pretend that Peanuts haven't always gone after those $weet, $weet licensing deals.

They held a prudential Aaron Judge tying the HR record hostage, so why not.

I don't understand why people are doing so much gatekeeping for these specials. It's not the 80's anymore where kids are waiting for a new one every month. Kids these days have never seen these, are not interested in them, and, considering how depressing some of them are, probably wouldn't like them. We've moved on as a society. If Apple can make some money streaming them to adults, then they're welcome to it.

If Apple can make some money streaming them to adults, then they're welcome to it. Yet people will still keep on selling Peanuts merch, some to kids. Bet another movie will be inevitable, some day. (moreso if Disney via 20th Century Pictures/Fox still has rights to do so) It's kind of like how the Looney Tunes will never die even though their time came and went similarly.
