Not looking forward to it at all, isn't there a decree from Dr. Seuss' estate after the disaster that was the live action Cat In The Hat that no live action version of Seuss' work can be made again? I smell a lawsuit

This movie has nothing to do with Jim Neidhart.

Why would they allow this to be made?

...does EVERYTHING need a "dark and gritty" reboot?? This movie has nothing to do with Jim Neidhart. And it's both a million times worse and five thousand times better because of that. Worse, because it's not about Jim, but better because Nattie isn't in it lol

But Dr. Suess' estate still has the copyright does it not? I doubt they would approve of this.

If this was a parody short akin to Power/Rangers this might be good for a laugh or two, but as a full length feature film? Nope. I can see the premise wearing out it's welcome even before the end of act 1.

From what I can tell this is a very thinly veiled parody that will never use the word Grinch, Who's, or Whoville, and thus will probably skate by copyright by some slim margin.
Could still see the Seuess estate publicly condemning it though.

Wouldn't a horror Grinch effectively just be Silent Night, Deadly Night?

Wouldn't a horror Grinch effectively just be Silent Night, Deadly Night? Admittedly the Jim Carrey Grinch film would have been improved by a scene of him shooting one of the Who's on Garbage Day.

So it's The Grinch, but played completely straight.

Maybe it'll be the original Grinch that was white and had red eyes.
Not the Chuck Jones green version that Seuss absolutely hated.
