AKA "A Christmas Story Christmas" (wow that title is clunky)
Peter Billingsley returns as Ralphie at least, but between It Runs in the Family/My Summer Story and the other A Christmas Story 2, this is such a weird chronology.

Even if this end sup being bad or mediocre it can't take away from how great the original is.

Ralphie spends too much time binge-watching serial killer shows and he guts Scut Farkus like a fish and starts to eat his liver before his mother stops him and washes his mouth out with soap.

Too bad Farkus was already gutted by Freddy and Scorponok respectively. Ralphie: "His guts looked like red cabbage!"

Hmmmmm....well, the trailer is direct in them wanting to prey on your memories of the original, instead of saving it for cutesy references and dumb jokes, like ACS2.
We need to call James Rolfe for Chronologically Confused (say, did he do Halloween ever?).
So, we have the ACS --> It Runs In The Family/My Summer Story continuity.
Or... ACS --> ACS2.
Now, ACS --> ACSC.
But what if ACS2 "really" happened, as Ralphie was older but not as older as he is in ACSC? This makes another timeline of ACS --> ACS2 --> ACSC.
Could the same hold true for the Ralphie of MSS/IRITF? That he could have grown up to be ACSC Ralphie? Although they look different?
I wonder if there's a timeline in which there's an ACS starring the Summer Story Parkers?

Since she is not in this, and really hasn't been interactive with the ACS fandom, I now wonder...is Melinda Dillon another "Tina Louise"? Or is she just recluse/retired?

And we have a trailer:
Off the heels of the questions about Dillon, we have a stand-in for Mrs. Parker.
For a period piece we have a lot of typical current family comedy humor.
The "Because...FIRST MOVIE!" moments are still there.

I'll probably watch it, as I survived said other ACS2, so what the hey. I even tried the musical, but DNF. It could be another Rescue Rangers surprise, or one of those "real" sequels with the original cast to make it legit, that people have hope for because the last attempt sucked or most people thought it did. Ghostbusters and Dumb and Dumber, I'm looking at you. I'd be remiss if I didn't mention the return of the 1972 WB logo as well.

"Santa please get me an Infinity Gauntlet!"
"You'll snap yourself out of existence, kid." *Kick*
(That's literally all I know about that movie.)

Thing is, having more stories outside of the one from "A Christmas Story" does make sense, as Jean Shepherd had a bunch of stories he did. Hell, I remember in high school literature class we read one where Ralphie was in either Jr High or High School, trying to avoid getting asked a question in math class, and when he did finally get asked he guessed the answer and happened to be right.
The problem is 1)keeping a tone similar to the original movie and 2)with this movie now, you now have 2 of the 3 movies sticking with the same holiday season instead of looking out at the rest of the year for the family (Not sure how well My Summer Story did telling stories of Ralphie and family outside of Christmas, admittedly).

My Summer Story/It Runs in the Family ran with the memoirs of Jean, but they were way too late on cashing in on its popularity, and the movie only made a pathetic 50 grand at the box office. I'd say it's the best of the three, but it's also the one everyone forgets about.

I've never understood the love for the first one.
If it wasn't for TBS doing 24 hour marathons would it even be a classic?
