"Santa please get me an Infinity Gauntlet!" "You'll snap yourself out of existence, kid." *Kick* (That's literally all I know about that movie.) Ralphie‘s Son: TONY STARK WAS ABLE TO BUILD THIS IN A CAVE! WITH A BOX OF SCRAPS! Ralphie: I’m not Tony Stark. Blew my mind when I found out that “Ralphie” is the “Iam not Tony Stark” Guy. He was also in Far from Home aswell. Also, this new movie actually looks pretty good

Why in the world would they number in reverse but rank best to worst. That’s legit insane. If you’re going to use best to worst you have to number from 1 down not 8 up. im very angry now. i may write a letter. With a convoluted bullet point system

I did watch My Summer Story but not this. The cast looks more like the actual ACS actors/actress, I'll give them that. I started the PBS movies, first the one that has the more-book-accurate leg lamp substory. As there's less pressure for it to follow ACS, as it came BEFORE, I'm liking it a lot better. Finished all but the last 20 minutes of ACSC when over my sister's house. It's not like the original ACS, has nods and moments where it is, but it tries to be its own thing too. The references are nowhere as in your face like ACS2 (well except one). Farkus and Randy's cameos I liked a lot. Maybe I'll take advantage of the $1.99 Cyber Monday and get a trial subscription.

I thought it was good. It wasn't as good as the original, but an actually worthy sequel, IMO.

Flick and Schwartz are exactly how I would expect them to grow up to be. LOL

I thought it was good. It wasn't as good as the original, but an actually worthy sequel, IMO. I had the same thoughts. Felt they could have dropped two of the fantasy sequences, if not all of them, to maintain the pacing a little better and it would still have the same energy feeling like a proper sequel.

Like I said, I need to watch like the last 20 minutes. But yes, none of the fantasy sequences struck me as particularly funny. Maybe the Black Bart redux came closest. Or the jail one?

Ollie Hopnoodle's Haven of Bliss is the best Parker movie that's not Christmas Story. Used to be on Youtube if you haven't seen it. I think it was a TV movie.

I am watching one of the PBS movies...where Ralph* is going to prom. It also features the true first live action version of the leg lamp story. If it came after ACS, we'd have "it follows the book more!" defenders, I'm sure. * - RALPH not Ralphie. I'm sure Shep wouldn't have it any other way.

So I'm finally done. I'd basically describe it as a decent family comedy with nods to ACS and callbacks not as blatant as ACS2.
The more I hear Peter in this did remind me of Shep's voice. In fact someone called this a Jean Shepherd origin story, and I can see that.
I think every attempt at recasting Mrs. Parker in anything after ACS seems to be inspired by Mary Steenbergen in My Summer Story, rather than Melinda Dillon. They also try to make her quirky too....though in those earlier Shepherd TV movies she was like that too.
And the twist about Farkus was great.

I finally finished it.
I just wasn’t in the right mood when I tried watching it a few weeks ago.
It was a lot of fun. Call backs while doing it’s own thing. The 60s was a fun setting, loved the wife and the kids.
I don’t think I’ll watch it every year but if you like the original it’s worth checking out.

RIP
Reprising her momma role in another ACS movie does indeed feel like a proper final act, though. Godspeed, miss Melinda Dillon.

DVD is apparently out.
But what I really want to ask is...does anyone know who plays the voice of Mrs. Schwartz?
Met RD Robb, Zack Ward, and Peter this weekend, and they didn’t know/I didn't get to ask.
