I’m on one for the sake of my blood pressure as I recover from my stroke last month. For the most part I think I’m managing okay, reading lane,s and avoiding processed foods. But any small tips are appreciated.

My father in law has preached for years that the hardest part of his low sodium diet was before he learned to avoid most foods marked "low sodium". I don't mean like naturally low sodium foods. But like "low sodium pretzels". He said 90% of the time that sort of shit just made him crave the real thing. Was easier to go cold turkey in his opinion.
He's also a bit wacky. So I take anything he says with a grain of low-sodium salt substitute.

But any small tips are appreciated. Garlic's good. Not just garlic powder, fresh raw cloves pounded down via mortar and pestle. Have lots of it. Hell, there crushed garlic, chili peppers, and vinegar (and maybe crushed black pepper) makes for a good dipping sauce for grilled/BBQed food. There's also some non-sodium/salt seasonings or marinade, like Mrs. Dash. Might help. Keep forgetting to ask, but apparently MSG has much less sodium than salt, so that might help with seasoning. Curry powder also nice, though it can be overpowering for non-curry dishes. For curry, gotta load up on that and spices. Coconut milk as well, but here I'm spoiled with getting fresh milk off the coconut. Can't really give an opinion on canned or powdered coconut milk.

I'll second the Mrs. Dash suggestion above. The Italian Herb & Garlic and Southwest Chipotle are my go to seasonings. Target also has generic brands of these if you find Mrs. Dash hard to find, which I sometimes do.

If you need some long term storage veggies to supplement fresh veg, go with bags of frozen vegetables over canned. Canned vegetables are freaking loaded with sodium, while the frozen bags are often, well, just the veggies but frozen.

Avoid as much canned stuff as you can, like can of veggies and soup are loaded to preserve it.
