I finally got around to watching The Suicide Squad and I unironically enjoyed it more than any other movie in the franchise.
It's not flawless, but I definitely had fun.

Might also be a thing where she’s contractually obligated to be involved in a third movie until they decide not to have one and go “Oh well, we tried. Bye!” Or the other version of this known as “Wait, she said what? No way we’re doing that”. Problem is, neither Gunn or Gadot can really say it because of their part in the strikes so it’s pretty much She said something a few weeks before the strikes and They said something anonymously.

Blue Beetle's tracking is looking better than it was, but, it was looking disastrous a couple weeks back. So it's not an improvement that's going to be that telling.
Maybe around $30 mil or so when it opens?
DC kept the budget down at least. Still not the kind of opening that is going to get them a profit, most likely.
I know it's relatively moot with the relaunch happening, but they'll be hoping for Aquaman 2 to at least send this original universe off with something to cheer about. Though I doubt it can match what the first did in China, that's where it really broke out huge.

Maybe around $30 mil or so when it opens? $30 million wouldn't be a disaster, but without some unlikely legs it would effectively end any chance the movie has of going into profit before it hits the home market. It might break even, so it would be a (very small) step in the right direction.

Maybe around $30 mil or so when it opens? There feels like a bit more of a marketing push in the last few weeks, and it does feel genuine, so that might have helped things.

I know we all kinda thought this for many years anyway, but it's nice to hear from someone directly involved about the reckless push for instant MCU universe and instant MCU success from the Warner executives. uk.yahoo.com/news/man-steel-writer-says-crazy-224442392.htmlIn a career-spanning interview on the “Happy Sad Confused” podcast, “Man of Steel” writer David S. Goyer agreed with host Joshua Horowitz that Warner Bros. should’ve developed a standalone Superman sequel with Henry Cavill instead of attempting to mount a cinematic universe with “Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice.” The studio did so in order to compete with Marvel.
“I know the pressure we were getting from Warner Bros., which was, ‘We need our MCU! We need our MCU!’ And I was like let’s not run before we walk,” Goyer said. “The other thing that was difficult at the time was there was this revolving door of executives at Warner Bros. and DC. Every 18 months someone new would come in. We were just getting whiplash. Every new person was like, ‘We’re going to go bigger!'”
“I remember at one point the person running Warner Bros. at the time had this release that pitched the next 20 movies over the next 10 years. But none of them had been written yet!” Goyer continued in amazement. “It was crazy how much architecture was being built on air… This is not how you build a house.”

Just no stable vision at that company.

Yeah, even ignoring my personal hatred of Batman v Superman, it was obviously too much too soon. Introducing Batman and Wonder Woman, the existence of the Flash, Aquaman, and Cyborg, and killing Superman in the SECOND MOVIE was far too much. That's enough story for, like, at least ten movies. I don't think any scriptwriter or director could have made gold out of that in any universe.

That could be an interesting way to introduce the Gunnverse Flash, I’m intrigued by the idea

A Rogues movie during Christmas could be a fun way to introduce them to the DCU. Establishing the comics' Christmas Truce between the Flash and the Rogues (or just their code of honor in general) is a good way to show how different they are from other heroes' rogues galleries. Like they're villains, but not murderous psychopaths.

A Rogues movie could be a lot of fun but soooo much stuff they're announcing just seems like projects destined to lose a shitload of money because they're not waiting until they have an established audience for them first. Like that, Swamp Thing, the Authority, all of these just sound like massive flops to me.

Do what Marvel did right by starting off with the bigger names like Superman and Batman (Brave and Bold). Then slightly more obscure like Green Lantern Corp. Then get weird like Creature Commandos, Rogues, etc.

I trust nothing that leaker says when it comes to DC. Or anything really, but especially DC.
Cute idea though.

She's somewhat reliable with Marvel, though rarely with anything past preproduction. It's been pretty conclusively proven over the last couple of years that she has access to concept art and storyboards but little else. I struggle to think of anything she's been accurate about with DC.

Look, I love Gunn, I thoroughly enjoyed all 3 GotG films, and The Suicide Squad is easily the best of the DCEU films, but I'd be a hypocrite if I didn't say he's got way too much dip on his chip. Like, Tsujihara and Hamada were doing too much with Batman vs Superman and Suicide Squad. Gunn's trying to do Creature Commandos, The Authority, and now he allegedly has a Rogues movie (though, the source has been consistently wrong, so let's keep that in mind).
