It's nice to see folks getting a chance on Main Event to cut promos. Ali and Cedric were doing some stuff a few weeks ago and it seems like it's led to Ali getting a shot on the main roster, so hoping Shelton gets a similar shot. He could at the very least still be in the US Title mix.

Eh, that was alright. Shelton's biggest flaw was that he wasn't a good promo. That might be the only reason why he didn't get more of a push. Always thought he should have feuded with Swagger after he won the WHC.

He says he's "just Shelton", but I'd say he's a Shelt of his former self.

When I attended Wrestlemania 21 live where the first MITB match took place, Shelton was the highlight of that match, I remember the crowd poped for everything he did, he was one of the definitive highlights of the whole show

He needs to be at least in the upper-mid card/US Title level, even now dude is really talented

Shelton is a longtime favorite of mine. I'm basically never going to bitch about anything that puts him on my TV.

I honestly always forget he's still on the roster. At this point the ship has long sailed when it comes to him being a big deal. He's aged extremely well and I'm sure is still good in the ring but he's always lacked charisma and that's always prevented him from being a top guy. With him being 47 and not featureds since the Hurt Business which was two years ago at this point, I'm guessing he survived the last few years of roster cuts due to them wanting to keep Brock happy.

Disagree; Shelton had physical charisma in spades (and anyone who thinks otherwise should go back and watch his matches with HHH, a goddamn masterclass of in-ring storytelling). What he didn't have were promos, and bookers who would properly work around that weakness in his otherwise superlative skillset.

It looks like he had at least had one damn good promo in him, though.

They really missed an opportunity way back when by never forming a team between Shelton and Booker T. It could have been a nice nod to the old US Acres cartoon with Sheldon and Booker. Granted that is all there is to the team, but I'm sure tag teams have been formed with less substance than that before.
