I loved dinosaurs when I was a kid, and love dinosaurs today as an adult. I now collect dinosaur teeth. This is the newest one I bought. An Itermirus tooth from Uzbekistan.

I stumped so many people on Facebook with this one. To me, the dinosaur-bird connection hasn't made dinosaurs any less cooler, and it makes birds 1000000 times cooler. Think about it: not only are dinosaurs technically not extinct, they're all around us! Even if you live in Antarctica, you could go outside right now and probably see one. Heck, chances are you've probably eaten one! I ‘member after watching JP looking at my mothers green parrots movements like “..you a lil dinosaur ain’t you f***er?” I thought they were the coolest. I wonder if they’re still considered cool for kids growing up in this age.

Dinosaurs are f***ing cool. Also, finding out about creatures like the Titanis really helps support the "raptors evolved into birds theory".

Heck, chances are you've probably eaten one! Yep, all birds evolved from theropod dinosaurs. IIRC, it's the branch of those dinosaurs that include the already bird-like dinosaurs like Gallimimus, dromaeosaurs like Deinonychus and Velociraptor as well as T-Rex's, which is why a lot of them tend to be illustrated with feathers now. Meanwhile, the primarily herbivore dinosaurs, even those with some bird-like hip-structure from the Cretaceous like hadrosaurs and ceratopsids, still get illustrated as more scaly and reptilian-looking.
A lot of birds are also pretty badass. You ever get a look at a cassowary's feet? Those things are basically modern dromaeosaurs.

Another cool thing about the dino-bird connection is Emus. Emus don't have wings, just small arms with a single finger that they can't move at all, so if you strip away all of the Emus feathers then they look like beaked dinosaurs.

Dinosaurs? Cool.
Animorphs: In The Time Of Dinosaurs? Not cool at all.
And now you know.

I had an endless array of dinosaur books, toys, and tapes as a kid, so I'll just keep posting stuff like this forever, basically.

As someone who loved dinosaurs as a kid, seeing a Cassowary for the first time at Prague zoo in June was one of the coolest moments of my life.

Wouldn't it just look like an Emu after all it's feathers had been plucked? All of the Maniraptoriformes (the clade that includes birds and the most bird like dinosaurs) had feathers, and one family, the Alvarezsauridae, actually had small arms with one claw and the other two fingers were tiny.
