You might read the title to this thread and go "What next? Tell us water is wet?", but I think I've reached a new peak of frustration. I was supposed to have a delivery today, learned my lesson from last time and put "use the intercom" in the delivery instructions, aaaand they still didn't use the intercom and just left a "sorry we missed you" sticker on the front of my apartment building. I just... Like, I get it. It's more work to read the instructions and use the intercom than stick a thing on the door and move on, but I'm not expecting much here!
Anyone got other fun FedEx stories? And seriously, f*** FedEx.

I spent 4 years loading trucks for FedEx Ground. Believe me when I say, the drivers don't give a shit if you get your package.

Did the same to me. Forced me to pay extra fees before they’d retry me.
Then lost my package.
Then refused to refund me as they said they’d tried to deliver it three times (which was categorically false, as I work from home and have a view at my front door from my desk) and that it was now in the warehouse but NOT lost.
Never got the package.

at work the Fed Ex guys are pretty great... the UPS guys are the ones that tend to just slap the "We missed you" sign on the door and walk away even when you're standing behind the register and are looking directly at them.

I spent 10 years doing EVERYTHING you can do in a FedEx Ground hub except Induction (and even then, I did Smalls Induction). I cringe every time I see something for me pass through the hub I used to work at. And yeah, the times I worked P&D, I can't tell you how many service-crossed, undelivered packages were still there in vans that were supposed to be empty.

My local driver is real good. Pleasant, always makes sure to put my packages safe out of anywhere it can get rained on. al
Transport sucks. Packages coming through the Southaven depot always get held up for days. Still have never had one get lost though.

I don't have much experience with FedEx but if it's anything like my experiences with UPS then they can eat a bag of dicks.

Around here, UPS is fantastic, USPS is great, Amazon is average, and FedEx is only used when you actively want something to disappear.

Around my parts, I find Fed-Ex to be the best of all the delivery services. So weird how that turns out.

I am currently waiting on 2 packages coming from Fex Ex. So far no major delays or anything, coming at more or less the speed I expect from them. But they have estimated delivery as today and tomorrow. As soon as they put that up I thought BS. Why put that up when even if things went perfect it would still not arrive by those dates?
Meanwhile USPS tracking estimates are nearly perfect. If it doesnt come by the estimate its because of a mistake, not because of an unrealistic estimate.

I only used them once and it was a horrible experience. The local store is a 2 minutes drive from my house but they don't advertise a local number. It's an 800 number where the person on the line quoted me a shipping price $60 less than the store quoted. So that's problem 1. The item that I spent a lot of time packing to protect was destroyed, repeat DESTROYED at some point in their possession.
The charge extra for an insurance fee which is not called insurance, I can't remember the name. It's some gimmick silly name which should have been my second warning. After the item was destroyed I tried getting the claim and talked to no less than 10 employees over a half a month. Everyone referred me to call someone else and told me just send in one more piece of evidence or some such and it was be approved. The finally person turned my claim down. I've worked in retail for years and know the customer is not always right but it hurts to be lied to time after time after time by these folks.
UPS was almost as bad with a claim some years earlier. The store guy kept trying his best not to pay that insurance claim. He finally did but shorted me $30+ and after some haggling gave me that and STILL shorted me like $6. Are these people getting commission for turning down insurance? It sure seems like it.
Meanwhile I've been dealing with post office for 15 or so years and rarely have a problem but people sweat by UPS and Fedex. LOL.

I had a driver tell me at Christmas time if a customer's driveway isn't paved or it's after 4pm. They aren't getting their pacage.

I unloaded trucks when it had been raining and packages were sitting in puddles of water by the back doors. Large packages crushed by being forced onto the too small shelves.

Oh, it's even better then it the puddles _freeze_, and the boxes are frozen to the floor.
