I wonder if they’ll still go with that planned Creighton Duke spin-off movie. And if they would tie it to the series. At least it won’t be this
But if it was I’d still watch it

I do not want to be sympathetic to Jason mf'n Voorhees. Why? Jason the child is just a disabled person who wasn't being supervised and ""drowned"". That character deserves sympathy, Jason the killer sure yeah no sympathy he's just a monster with murder on the mind

if it's a Prequel series shouldn't it be "Thursday the 12th"?
also my understanding the person behind this does not have the rights to Jason Vorhees. (outside of maybe his appearance from the first movie... the Rights to the franchise are all kinds of messed up)
so I expect this to just be a wacky 80's sex comedy series >_>

The best thing they could do is adapt Junkmix's 'Camp Counselor Jason' comics.

A prequel is a dumb idea. There's nothing there till Jason drowns and Pamela goes nuts
I'm sure they'll add a buncha stuff, and it's not like the series hasn't always been stupid though, so whatever

In the first movie the truck driver that told Annie the cook about the history of the camp alluded that they tried to open the camp several more times in the 60s. Maybe there will be stuff about that.

This. His presence is iconic. Surely not his elaborate, Shapespearan backstory. But maybe they get advice from Rob Zombie how to explain a series' ultimate evil.
Except with Jason, there is potential to be somewhat interesting about it. Mind you, it could be derivative (the "different" kid who gets bullied), but at least you could kind of guess that's how it played out from the original movies. So it wouldn't be a radical change like the Redneck Myers Family Adventures. As weird as it is to say, Jason is already the most sympathetic of the slasher icons. I'd argue that Leatherface is more sympathetic than Jason, if we're going to think of any of them in such a way.

Kind of like Springwood in Freddy's Nightmares, although that wasn't necessarily always a prequel.

Bates Motel got a lot of milage out of a child Patrick Bates and his mother, I could see something of the like for this show. Cautiously interested. There was absolutely no fn reason for that show to be as good as it was

Maybe there will be stuff about that. Fuller is good about taking little things like that and expanding on them. Hannibal was built on a page or two of content in one book.

Idk. Jason is FRIDAY THE 13TH. Not always... I have a soft spot for this series. It holds up surprisingly well even today.

Make it about 7 year old Jason and he can run around killing people like that little guy in Trick r' Treat with the bag on his head.

Possibly Evil Dead. As ass as that movie was, it does have some plot threads that could be interesting. Duke hunting movie monsters is a cool idea.
