Gargano revealed that at least initially Miz was paying Lumis to stalk him to build clout. They handwaved the US title match by saying, "Miz knew he wasn't going to beat Lashley," but, like, he was on top of the cage while Lashley was down so that explanation is incredibly flimsy.

I thought it was an entertaining segment and a good change of pace. honestly. Byron played his part well and Johnny doing all the 'reenactments' himself was great.

Assuming Johnny is telling the truth the whole thing comes off as incredibly ridiculous. I seriously wonder if this was always the plan for it. Did they say Dexter and Miz are still in cahoots? Or Dexter wants to kill him for real now for some reason (Miz not holding up his end of the deal?)?

That's still dumb. It also doesn't line up with Dexter's character. Like he's supposed to be this mute serial killer weirdo. Having him be mad because he got stiffed on a payoff like some common thug makes him come off a lot less menacing now.

Only thing I can think of there is that maybe Lumis was asked to do something specific and didn't really have wiggle room relating to if Miz was currently winning the match or not.

It's not a good explanation, but it's an explanation for that discrepancy.

This story is still unraveling and after tonight I can’t pretend I know where it’s going. All I know is that this 60 Minutes parody was the funniest segment WWE has done since probably something Mankind did in the 90’s. Or something between maybe Edge, Christian, and Commissioner Foley. I know there were funny things in between but nothing that came anywhere close to this. Hats off to the writers and producers of this segment. Good god.
