I think him as an on screen character will be a dud, but he brings a ton to the table in a backstage role.

Tony Khan should save some time and just go ahead shoot himself in the foot. Jarrett's business model for TNA was so successful he was forced to sell the company in less than a year. then his business handling of Global Force Wrestling was so successful, he resorted to trying to get fans to sign up for Karatbars

Jeff actually being brought on to get them better live event venues in areas that they haven't traveled to yet is a big friggen deal, and Jeff is really good at this I'm ok with him being an on screen character in a midcard feud as payment for that tbh

They said Jeff couldn't draw a dime and there he was with two of them in Cole Karter.

Love Jarrett but Lethal drags every segment he’s in down (to me at least). Jarrett/Lethal vs. Sting/Darby could be fun though.

I thought it was bad due to stupid booking decisions like JJ going over Raven which killed their Nashville market.

Jeff Jarrett will be the only person to survive the heat death of the universe at this.
The guy ALWAYS finds a way back somewhere.

I guess the thing that miffs me in these later years is the "Last Outlaw" cowboy gimmick...
Like I have always taken him for a Graceland/Memphis country singer never...Ever...a cowboy...
It all just comes off so strange no matter where he is at. I probably have not been this shocked by a Jeff Jarrett sighting since I saw "Spring breakers".
Regardless of what I think about him on screen, he will be a hell of an asset backstage and AEW will forever need that.

Did he bust open Darby's skull with the guitar? He was leaking pretty heavily afterwards on the mat afterwards, and after it was noticeable, they shot Jarrett's promo with just close-up shots.

I am weird in that I love when someone can appear in like just about every promotion at least once. ROH and ECW are some of the only places of note that I don't think Jarrett ever appeared for (did he ever do SMW?), he's been just about everywhere else in North America, along with AAA and NJPW outside of the US, as well. It's kind of nuts.
He also has much, much more charisma than Lethal has in this day and age, so this was probably an upgrade on that part.

Why not? Dude is a font of knowledge and a heel who can actually be happy with getting boos. I’m down.
