Giants are calling up Luciano! #1 prospect in baseball a little while back, injuries and the pandemic season set him back a little but he’s been hearing up and the Giants have been fielding three middle-infield options who are absolute zeroes on offense.

Nobody likes Rob Manfred for an abundance of justifiable reasons, but the job of the Commissioner is to be the representative of the game's 30 owners, and they have to be thrilled with the direction the sport is going, given that TV ratings are up nearly 30 percent (despite cornerstone teams like the Yankees, Mets, Red Sox, Cubs, and Cardinals scuffling), attendance is back to pre-pandemic levels, and we're a week out from August and only about a half-dozen teams won't be playing meaningful baseball down the stretch run. Quite frankly, the game is about as healthy and relevant as it's been in over a decade. |

It’s about the name on the front not the name on the back. One would assume they could have named their price for prospects and it would at least gave this team as a future Even if Ohtani comes back, they really still not a championship contender. BUT he will sell tickets that’s all that matters. Trout is in the injury phase of his career and has never really put winning on the high priority list either |

But Manfred, I can't explain it... he's just different. I will give him credit for the pitch clock. I didn't think it would work as well as it has. I'm still interested to see what the playoffs look like. |

Here is something I don't get, why do they still do the appeal play with runners tagging, why not just challenge it via instant replay? I wonder if it's reviewable. Sounds stupid, but I wouldn't put it past the rules to not allow that to be reviewed. |

The problem is I don't trust the Angels to put together a winner this year or long-term. I'd sell Ohtani. You could ask the moon in prospects to the right team, and then you could build again. But they only have one top 100 prospect as is and they traded their next two best prospects for a starter that is normally inconsistent. And they do it when Houston has a better all-around team and Texas has a better all-around team, probably Seattle too. And now that you're not gonna compete for the division crown, you have to beat out Tampa and Toronto and Boston as well. And at a time when Trout is about to turn 32, is always banged up anymore, isn't in the conversation for best hitter in baseball anymore.
So I don't think it really matters if they sell him or keep him; they're going to stay a maddeningly aimless, below-average franchise regardless of what moves they do or don't make.

The only way that the Angels will ever improve is when Arte Moreno sells the team. With Arte at the helm, the team will continue to waste Trout and they'll lose Ohtani in the offseason.
