I feel like a tailspin into sub .500 baseball is almost imminent for this team, because if the front office and ownership doesn’t believe in them, why should they? I hate how predictable this team is. Since the trade deadline, the Red Sox are 1-4 and have been outscored by a combined score of 35-17 in those five games. The bullpen has been dismal, the offense can’t get anything going, players are showing up late and getting benched, and guys are getting thrown out on the basepaths because they’re not paying attention. This is quickly shaping up to be the fourth meaningless September in Boston in the past five seasons.

Angels lost again
Trading your future to push for a failed playoff run sure is looking good

Angels lost again Trading your future to push for a failed playoff run sure is looking good Not getting anything for Shohei when you could have gotten an entire farm too, now they will wind up potentially with a lost season and Ohtani moving on to greener pastures Someone on ESPN said the Angels are very close to becoming the most irrelevant team for the next decade because of how badly they've handled everything, even more so than the A's, and I gotta say, this run is proving that assessment to be right.

This has been the Angels problem for years even before Shohei got there. They spend money, make trades and don't develop talent. Now the talent they have signed after being bad for a few years they traded away and is going to be cheeks for years but hey you still got Mike Trout Angels if all things went right could have traded Trout and Ohtani to teams and became one the best farm systems in MLB. But, they have a Mike Trout clearly on the decline and hoping that Ohtani loves the Angels and doesn't dash elsewhere Even if they paid him a big bag ($500M) and he stayed, what difference does it make? Your ballclub is still flawed and between Trout and Ohtani you are paying a bag for two players

Depends how much he really wants to put into loyalty with the team which could be a factor. Angels problem is everyone and their mother is going to have money to pay Ohtani. You have to start at $350M for him as a minimum which won't last. Dodgers, Yankees and Mets are going to throw their hats in the ring, along with others like Texas, Phillies, etc.. The only teams that truly won't entertain a bid is Marlins, A's and Pirates cause they are cheap as shit

Arte Moreno is the west coast Jeff Wilpon.
I heard some commentators saying "I don't agree with them keeping Ohtani, but hey, at least they're going all in on a playoff push and a sales pitch to keep him" and it's like...no, they're not all in? They sold off futures for middling pieces when they needed impact players to get over the multiple teams in front of them, they're not going anywhere.
Shohei will probably end up across the county with the Dodgers.

And more importantly, with Trout on the IR they can continue to sell tickets cause of Ohtani until the end of the season Angels have chased anyone and everyone in free agency for the last 10 years and only walked away with people like Josh Hamilton, Albert Pujols, Vernon Wells, Anthony Rendon etc... In theory, those guys should have worked but they didn't Angels will most likely have won 5 of the last 10 MVP awards by end of this season. Not only do they not have any championships to show for it, they barely got playoff appearances to show for it

Peter and John Angelos are petty, thin-skinned bitches.
EDIT: IT GETS WORSE
All the guy did was literally give the info from notes given to him by the team. It's like they set him up.

Yankees have designated former "can't miss" pitching prospect Deivi Garcia for assignment. Baseball's evaluation of prospects feels like such a crapshoot compared to the other major sports.

My God. MLB needs a rule that says that any and all failsons need to stay the @#$% out of ownership boxes. Frankly, MLB should get rid of most of the owners, period, but that's another story. As for big prospects, Mets option Brett Baty down to Syracuse. Sucks he hasn't been able to get things going this year, but he's also a rookie, so it's not time to give up on him or anything.

The entire Angelos family are huge assholes. I fear what is said to Mike Elias behind the scenes that might make him leave.
