*Dodgers go on to win the division with relative ease. Can the Padres just please step up this year and take the west, I am tired of seeing the Dodgers in the playoffs and I'm not even a NL fan Padres are gonna Padre. They won’t win the division, no matter the talent. Doesn’t mean they won’t be a threat if they make it through the wildcard to the tournament.

How about baseball rearrange the divisions again so they can move the Astros back to the NL so the Dodgers have actual competition and the AL can get oh I don't know the Rockies and then maybe the Yankees can win another damn pennant

(The Brewers actually started as an AL team before getting moved in '98.)

Yeah, I know at this point we're doomed to a future where the NL and AL probably don't exist anymore, but I love the separate leagues and hate the idea that teams would just flip flop between them, feels wrong for a club's identity. Besides, geographically it just worked: the AL Central is more northern, for the most part, while the NL Central trends more south, so it just fits. I just noticed that I have an opening day ticket at Citi Field as part of my plan this season. Shit, that just made me really excited, haven't done an opening day in a good while.

So far in spring training Cody Bellinger has looked pretty good, I cannot wait for him to be a problem this year at Wrigley hitting balls off the scoreboard!

So this is what the shift will look like this year: So hits to first are still gonna be instant outs? What the f*** was the point then??

So this is what the shift will look like this year: So hits to first are still gonna be instant outs? What the f*** was the point then?? It was always ill conceived in my view. The other changes were actually backed by solid data. This was just a perception thing. It won't eliminate the shift and the shift itself played a very marginal role in batting averages going down.

It's f***ing pointless if you ban the infielders from doing it but don't ban the outfielders What there's potential for now however is if there's a pop fly to right it could easily turn into a double because no one is there.

Which is way more common than to hit a grounder or a line drive through there, so we might see some players averages and slugging percentages tick up a few points this year

So this is what the shift will look like this year: I love it. Fxxx banning the shift. Batters should learn to bunt and break the shift themselves.

Well now it's hitting a ball to right field, literally if this configuration sticks around the league it's gonna be a free double for most guys if it gets past or pop flies over the third baseman's head, I don't care how fast your center fielder is lol

As someone who lived in Vegas for 23 years I can say the city has wanted a MLB team for as long as I can remember. They've tried for the Expos, Rays, A's and I also want to say they made a pitch to the Marlins b4 Miami built them that gaudy stadium. And if they do what they did to fund the Raiders stadium, which was use the tax money on weed sales and raise the taxes on the hotel guest fees to pay for it. And we all know their park is a joke and that Oakland or it's citizens don't have the have the money to build them a new park. So I say yeah let them come to Vegas sin city will gladly welcome them. The knights and Raiders have done good attendance numbers and it's only a matter of time before the NBA expands there as well.

Would the As rename for Vegas, or would they keep the name? Because honestly, calling them the Las Vegas Bandits just feels right.
